FX format

The Nikon AF-S 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR is full frame (FX format) lens. Nikon's full frame lenses can be mounted on Nikon professional bodies (FX), or even cropped sensor (DX) bodies. When the lens is mounted on a DX crop Nikon camera the standard (non TC) focal length gets boosted to 270-600mm (35mm equivalent) or 378-840mm (35mm equivalent).

Wide focal range of of 180-560mm

The Nikon 180-400mm TC1.4 lens with its built-in 1.4x teleconverter covers several popular telephoto focal lengths; enabling you to capture a wide variety of hard to reach subjects from a single lens; and zoom in, or out, to frame your subject.

Fast f/4 maximum aperture

The Nikon AF-S 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 features a fixed fast maximum aperture of f/4 throughout the standard zoom range, or f/5.6 with the 1.4x TC. This combined with its nifty 4-stop vibration reduction makes capturing sharp pictures in dim light a breeze.

Eight ED glass elements and Super Integrated coatings

Eight ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimizes chromatic aberration to deliver superior sharpness and colour reproduction, and a Super Integrated coatings helps to reduce ghosting and flares

4 Stop Vibration Reduction (VR) with Sport mode

The Vibration Reduction (VR) system in the 180-400mm TC ED VR reduces camera shake/movement induced blur for sharper images. The VR system is rated at a 4 stop equivalent and enables users to shoot at much slower shutter speeds than non-VR/IS lenses, and still get sharp and blur free images.

Sport mode limits vibration reduction to the minimum needed for subjects that are moving quickly and unpredictably. The viewfinder offers a more stable image when the camera is mounted on a monopod. Even when the camera is hand-held, the image in the viewfinder remains as stable and smooth as if the camera were on a monopod, making it easier to track the subject when the camera is panned during high-speed burst shooting. Frame rate and shutter response are unaffected.

Electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism

An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism is incorporated into the lens to enable stable and reliable auto-exposure (AE) with high-speed continuous shooting.

Silent Wave Motor

All AF-S NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon's SWM which enables high-speed autofocusing that's both extremely accurate, and super quiet.

Internal Focusing (IF)

All optical movement is limited to the interior of the non-extending lens barrel. This allows for a more compact, lightweight construction with a closer focusing distance, and makes using tinted/polarised filters a breeze.

Monopod/tripod collar

The tripod collar provides a well-balanced and secure support when shooting from a monopod or tripod.

Compatible with a range of teleconverters

If the built-in 1.4x teleconverter is not good enough you can also mount, or even stack, the Nikon AF-S 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR lens with optional teleconverters such as the TC-14E III, TC-17E II, or TC-20E III. On certain configurations AF might only be possible with f/8-compatible camera bodies.

Fluorite Lens Element

The Nikon AF-S 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 makes use of Fluorite (FL) lens element to reduce the overall lens weight, and improve balance for easier handling.

Protective Fluorine coating

A water-and oil-repellent fluorine coating on the front element's surface protects the lens from fingerprints, dirt and smudges and provides easy cleaning. The coating also provides an enhanced level of durability, and will sustain its effectiveness for years.

1.  What warranty comes with the goods purchased ?

All products excluding batteries sold by Orms are covered by a minimum of a one year local warranty, reckoned from the date of purchase, to protect you against manufacturing defects.

Canon DSLR and Mirrorless cameras are covered by a full 2 Year Warranty.
Canon video cameras including Legria and X-series are covered by a full 1 Year Warranty.

NIKON

Nikon compacts excluding the Coolpix P900 are covered by a full 1 Year Warranty.
Nikon DSLR's including the CoolPix P900 and are covered by a full 2 Year Warranty.

Panasonic cameras and lenses are covered by a full 2 Year Warranty.

FUJIFILM

Fujifilm cameras  are covered by a 2 Year Warranty.

Sigma and Tamron products are covered by a 3 Year Warranty.

Lexar and Sandisk memory cards are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

LOWEPRO BAGS

Lowepro's Limited Original Owner Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship during the useful life of the product.  The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper care.

USED GEAR PURCHASED FROM ORMS

 All used gear sold by ORMS is supplied with a 6 Month Warranty.

REFURBISHED GEAR PURCHASED FROM ORMS

 All refurbished gear sold by ORMS is supplied with a 12 Month Warranty.

2.  My product has gone faulty, now what ?

Please contact our service division straight away on 021 - 469 1962 and notify them of the fault. You may also e-mail them at repairs@orms.co.za

   1. If a product is defective / faulty, ORMS will replace the product within a 10 day period deemed from the date of receiving the product.  ORMS will also cover the shipping costs within the borders of South Africa.

   2. During the warranty period, Orms will arrange collection of the faulty item, facilitate the repair and then ship the product back to the customer, bearing all risks and costs.

Orms is not obliged to repair products that fall outside of the manufacturers warranty period, or products that are damaged accidentally, however Orms in seeking to deliver the highest standard of customer service will gladly assist the customer in having the product repaired via the network of repair agents with which Orms has business dealings.

We use Aramex couriers as our preferred method of delivery.

Your parcel is well packaged and bubble wrapped before delivery. We also fully insure your parcels contents for the journey to your door.

We charge a flat-rate for shipping and the charges are per order. 

• Express Shipping to Main Cities @ R 150.00 incl. VAT (ETA of 1-2 Business Days)* - Main Cities are: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London. Other cities/towns will take more than 1-2 delivery time.
• Standard Shipping @ R 80.00 incl. VAT (ETA of 2-4 Business Days)* - To all areas.

4.  Collect & Collect from Orms Shop in Cape Town / Bellville

You are welcome to place your order online, pay for it and collect it from our Cape Town or Bellville branches. You will need to bring in a print out of the order for collection. Please ask for online sales on arrival.
