With its 24.5 effective megapixels in the Nikon Z6 Camera, the new Nikon FX-format backside illumination CMOS sensor works together with the new EXPEED 6 image-processing engine to attain a wide standard sensitivity range of ISO 100-51,200 (expandable to ISO 50-204,800 equivalent). Focal-plane phase-detection AF pixels are efficiently distributed throughout the sensor, enabling it to cover approx. 90% of the frame with 273 focus points, and smooth AF is realized in both stills and movies. Furthermore, EXPEED 6 handles data from the image sensor rapidly, allowing up to approx. 12 fps high speed continuous shooting.
The Nikon Z6 Mirrorless Camera is capable of full-pixel readout, utilizing a wealth of information -equivalent to 6K -to deliver sharp, beautiful full-frame 4K UHD/30p movies in FX-based movie format. Active D-Lighting, electronic vibration reduction and focus peaking are now available in 4K UHD. The camera also introduces Full HD 120p/100p filming, which allows you to create regular or slow-motion footage in post-production, according to your needs. 4:2:2 10-bit N-Log and timecode functions are also employed for professional use.
With a powerful BSI CMOS sensor built-in to the Nikon Z6 Mirrorless Camera, it offers 273 phase-detect autofocus points that covers 90% of the image area in both vertical and horizontal orientation. It also provides precise and fast focusing, capturing instantly moving subjects without any hassle, and it offers Hybrid Autofocus for smooth focus when recording.
The Nikon Z6 Camera makes use of an Autofocus algorithm that’s optimised for its FX-format sensor, allowing the Nikon Z 6 camera to automatically switch between focal-plane phase-detect AF and contrast-detect AF to fine-tune the focus.
The powerful and extremely fast subject tracking allows you to follow a specific face in crowds, whether you shooting eye-level with the electronic viewfinder or in Live View via the LCD screen with precise focus on the subject.
Another beautiful feature of the Nikon Z 6 Mirrorless Camera includes the 4K Time-Lapse recording, where you can shoot up to 9,999 full high-resolution stills via the Interval Timer (and zero shutter vibration) -which you can then combine all of them into one 4K movie with 3rd party editing software or you the option of creating a time-lapse sequences right in the camera with exposure smoothing and extended low-lighting metering range, which is perfect for recording star trails.
You can now touch to focus, pinch to zoom, fire the shutter or swipe through photos as the Nikon Z 6 mirrorless camera offers a fully touchscreen. Easily navigate through settings on screen with the large built-in LCD touchscreen.
The latest Nikon Z6 camera features a larger mount diameter being the Z-mount, being 17% larger than Nikon’s acclaimed F Mount cameras. With the improvement of the larger Z Mount, its guaranteed to enhance low-light performance with even illumination from corner to corner; and even better apertures as wide as f/0.95; faster data transfer between the camera and lens which is the perfect balance between the mount diameter, large image sensor and flange focal distance.
You'll never have to worry of missing those important shots anymore as the Nikon Z6 can shoot up to 12 fps at full resolution in Hi+ mode (12-bit RAW or JPEG), being faster than the Z7 camera without the need for an external battery pack.
You can now transfer images directly to your smart device twice as fast than previously with the built-in Wi-Fi -up to 25 mbps. You have two options to choose between being the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands for optimum transfer speeds or make use of the Always connected Bluetooth where the Nikon Z 6 can automatically connect whenever your compatible smart device is in range to send full size JPEG images or you can automatically have the camera transfer 2MB file size images while capturing them.
Connect easily to your mac or Pc over Wi-Fi to wirelessly transfer RAW, JPEG and movie files. There Nikon Z6 camera offers two modes: camera access point mode, for connecting directly to a PC, and Station (STA) mode, for connecting over a router.
