Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II
16 Megapixel Live MOS sensor
The Olympus E-M5 Mark II features a 16-megapixel Live MOS sensor to provide rich and detailed images. When compared to previous sensors, this offers improved performance, and the dynamic range has been expanded for better colour reproduction.
TruePic VII image processor
The E-M5 Mark II is equipped with TruePic VII, the same image processor also used on the OM-D E-M1. TruePic VII optimises sharpness according to the optical characteristics of the attached lens and aperture (f-number) value, performs high-precision demosaicing optimised for the low-pass filter less sensor, and features Fine Detail II that reduces false colours. It brings out the potential of lenses to achieve sharpness and high resolution. Olympus proprietary image processing technology, Real Colour Technology, reproduces some colours that are thought to be difficult to reproduce such as emerald green and yellow more faithfully.
5-axis mechanical sensor-shift in-camera image stabilisation
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II features a new type of in-body 5-axis image stabilisation that compensates for all types of camera shake, even when recording videos. When combined with lenses with in-lens image stabilisation, 5-axis sync IS provides the world's most powerful stabilisation performance equivalent to 6.5 shutter speed stops. Even the in-body 5-axis image stabilisation on its own boasts outstanding stabilisation performance equivalent to 5.5 shutter speed stops.
Full HD Video Recording
The Olympus E-M5 Mark II can record Full HD(1920 x 1080) videos at smooth frame rates of up to 60p internally at a bit-rate up to 60Mbps. Additionally, the 5-axis mechanical sensor-shift image stabilisation is fully operational during video recording, enabling you to capture smooth video in Full HD handheld.
Wide light-sensitivity range of ISO 100 – 25,600
The E-M5 Mark II's sensor features a large light sensitivity range of ISO 100 - 25,600. The high light sensitivity enables the camera to capture imagery in extreme low light conditions, while the low ISO 100 enables shooting at larger apertures or slower shutter speeds without using neutral density filters.
40 Megapixel High Res Shot
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 II features a 40 Megapixel High Res Shot function that is perfect for scenes where you need a higher resolution in photos, such as shooting artwork and landscapes. The camera moves the sensor in half-pixel increments while capturing eight shots, which are then used to generate a single high-resolution shot equal to that captured with a 40M sensor.
The 81-point AF system covers most of the image area with focus points and lets you focus on any small subject in the area. Touch AF Shutter shows its true worth in focusing. Simply touch a spot on the monitor that you want to focus on for accurate and intuitive subject capture.
2.36M dots electronic viewfinder
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II is equipped with a high-speed viewfinder with a display time lag of 0.005 sec. for optimal image display. With this display you won't miss capturing the precise moment when shooting fast-moving subjects.
- 4K Time Lapse Movie (Free firmware update required)
- 10 fps Burst shooting with AF/AE lock. 5 fps with AF/AE tracking
