Creative Process
Every photographer needs to understand their individual creative process and develop their own visual language. Creative Process is a course specifically designed to enhance photographers’ visual literacy and assist them in discovering how their creative choices can alter the quality and meaning of their photographs. While honing their skills in practical photography, creative process teaches them to apply those skills with creative vision and intent. The course guides the process from brainstorming initial ideas to developing a concept and visual language for various projects. Making a series/body of work is an important component of this course. Playfulness and curiosity are encouraged.
Darkroom and Analogue Photography
The darkroom is an exciting space to explore the origins of photography. It lays the foundation for understanding many of the fundamentals that still underpin modern photographic technology - such as reading and understanding the use of light. This part of the course marries precision, play and science. Students will explore conventional film photography, film processing and scanning. Cyanotypes, a camera-less photographic printing process is also explored.
Creative Business
Creative Business is an introductory course for photographers assisting them in creating or streamlining their own creative enterprise. Various topics are covered from identifying your particular purpose within the photography industry and brand identity to pricing, copyright and marketing. The course bridges the gap between creating and business through selected theory, active student engagement, practical assignments and portfolio guidance are geared towards providing students with a practicable road map and structure for their creative enterprise.

Post-Production
The guiding principle of the post-production course is developing an understanding of photography as a refined digital process, where every editing decision directly influences the final outcome. Students are taught a comprehensive workflow that integrates Lightroom and Photoshop, from digital asset management and RAW processing to advanced retouching, compositing, colour grading, and the responsible use of AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency and precision. Emphasis is placed on non-destructive editing, tonal control, visual consistency, and efficient file handling.
Practical Photography
The guiding principle of the practical photography course is developing an understanding of photography as a complete process, where every decision made before and during capture directly influences the final image. Students are taught a comprehensive skillset, covering topics ranging from camera operation and exposure control to composition, visual storytelling, and lighting design in both location and studio environments. Particular emphasis is placed on studio photography, including controlled lighting setups, modifier selection, and working efficiently within a professional studio space.
