RENTALS AND USED GEAR LIAISON - CAPE TOWN

Job Title: Rentals and Used Gear Liaison
Department: Used Gear & Rentals

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The role will be responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating rental and used gear processes, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from booking to return. This role requires strong technical knowledge of photographic equipment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider rental team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients via email and in-store.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships.
  • Receive, dispatch, pack, and clean rental gear.
  • Create bookings, generate quotes, and process payments accurately.
  • Advise clients on equipment suitability and availability.
  • Book equipment in for repairs and servicing.
  • Perform firmware updates and basic maintenance.
  • Stay informed on the latest photographic gear and specifications.
  • Attend supplier training sessions.
  • Collaborate with the rental team across branches to grow the rental department and establish ORMS as the preferred rental provider.
  • Inspection and testing of potential used gear equipment purchases.
  • Labelling and processing used gear.
  • Following correct stock control procedures.
  • Creating new used gear listings on the website.
  • Sensor cleans in store

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Education or work experience in photography or videography.
  • Strong technical knowledge of camera equipment.
  • Fully computer literate.
  • Excellent command of English and Afrikaans (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.

COSTING ESTIMATOR CLERK - PRINTING & FRAMING

Job Title: Costing Estimator Clerk - Printing & Framing
Department: Print Room & Framing
Reporting To: Print Room General Manager

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Costing Estimator Clerk to join our Print Room & Framing team.
This role is essential to ensuring accurate and detailed quotations for custom printing and framing jobs received from our sales consultants. The successful candidate will work closely with sales and production teams to
calculate material, labour, and production costs while maintaining correct margins and pricing structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed job quotations
  • Analyse job specifications including print media, framing components, glass, mounting and finishes
  • Ensure correct pricing according to company standards
  • Maintain strong cost control and margin accuracy
  • Support sales and management with costing queries

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in costing, estimating, or production administration
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of printing and framing processes advantageous
