Powered into this advanced powerhouse Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera is a newly developed and advanced 45MP CMOS Image Sensor. The image sensor ensures superior image quality, raising the bar in high level stills and video recording - leaving you with great sharpness, clarity, tonal gradation and dynamic range in image and outstanding video quality.
The Canon EOS R5 is equipped with its most advanced and latest image processor, the DIGIC X. The powerful DIGIC X Image Processor ensures that a wide range of high-end functions can be made possible such as 8K video recording internally up to 30 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/ 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265); and also records 4K internal video up to 120 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/ 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265); an ISO sensitivity of 100-51200 (in 1/3-stop or 1 stop increments) and it can be expanded to a low of 50 and a high of 102400 and still keeping digital noise to a minimum; superior image quality with outstanding sharpness and clarity; blistering autofocusing speeds and more.
Go out and capture just about everything, whether it be fast moving subjects, the Canon EOS R5 Camera will perform exceptionally well by capturing them. The camera allows a continuous shooting speed of up to 12 fps with mechanical shutter and up to 20 fps with silent shutter, and at the same time still retaining sharpness and remarkable image quality.
Canon has incorporated its Dual Pixel CMOS AF II Technology with 5940 areas & total coverage into this sophisticated camera. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II adopts really high-speed autofocus calculations to match its powerful high-speed shooting capability of up to 20fps. It also ensures an AF System that covers 100% horizontally and 100% vertically with Face + Tracking and Auto Selection modes.
With blistering autofocus speeds, the Canon EOS R5 camera can focus in as little as 0.05 seconds - definitely being a step-change in performance, and the camera is also functional in light levels as low as -6EV.
As mentioned, the Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera definitely takes its video capabilities to the next level with 8K RAW internal video recording of up to 30 fps; and it can record 8K internal video up to 30 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/ 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265); and also records 4K internal video up to 120 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/ 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265). It's also capable of recording 4K external video of up to 60 fps; and something really exciting is that it doesn't crop in either 8K and 4K video capture while using the full-width of the sensor.
The Canon EOS R5 is of the first mirrorless camera to ever incorporate 5-axis IBIS (In-Body Image Stabilisation) to help minimise camera shake when recording movies of up to 8-stops with select lenses, which enables you to hand-held photography at very long shutter speeds without any fear of getting blur from camera shake. Note that the IBIS in the Canon EOS R5 will also function well when combined with Optical Image Stabilisation found in many of the Canon RF and EF lenses.
Not only does the Canon EOS R5 capture JPEG and CR3 RAW files, but it also allows you to capture HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) files. Capturing in this format allows a much higher image quality than your standard JPEG files. However, they more or less the same file size. What's nice about this format is that it allows 10-bit colour too for a more dynamic range and it also allows the capture of HDR PQ images. Additionally, the HEIF format can also be processed in camera to produce JPEG files.
You'll never have to worry with storage space getting any less as the Canon EOS R5 camera's design incorporates a dual memory card slot that's capable of reading a high-speed CFexpress card as well as a UHS- II SD card.
Besides the standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, the Canon EOS R5 camera now supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi communication. Having this enables really fast FTP data transfer between the camera and using the free Canon Camera Connect app. Easily connect to the Camera Connect app, which will then enable you to browse, or download your images directly to your smartphone, and then share and upload them to various social media sites and web services.
The EOS R5 camera from Canon features a really lightweight construction that's really comfortable and solid in the hand. The body features a rigid yet lightweight magnesium alloy chassis that improves the body durability while also shielding the camera from all electromagnetic radiation and heat.
