F1.4 maximum aperture.

The 16mm prime lens features a fast maximum aperture of F/1.4. When shooting at maximum aperture the lens creates images with a shallow depth of field, with great looking bokeh, and captures more light to help with low light shooting.

Minimum focus distance of 15cm

The wide angle focal length, short focus distance and large maximum aperture helps users to capture a close-up of their subject while still being able to capture an expansive and blurred background.

Weather- and dust-resistant.

Each portion of the barrel is sealed, making the lens weather-resistant, dust-resistant and capable of -10C low-temperature operation.

High quality optics.

The optical design includes two aspherical elements and two ED (extra low-dispersion) elements, which reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to deliver sharp image quality even at the widest aperture of F1.4. The image quality is further enhanced by a HT-EBC coating on all lens surfaces and a Nano GI coating on the rear surface of G1 lens. This alters the refractive index between glass and air, to reduce ghosting and flare from diagonal incident light.

High-speed autofocus.

The lens uses a high torque DC core-less motor and can autofocus as fast as 0.11 seconds.
