Broadcast-Quality Transitions

The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation UHD 4K Live Production Switcher offers you a wide range of broadcast-quality native transitions including mix, dip, wipe, and more. Border colour, border width, position, direction, and a lot more can be adjusted in the system menus for all transitions.
You will also find a powerful digital video effect processor for DVE transitions, used to squeeze the current picture offscreen, to reveal another video under it. You can also use the DVE to create graphic wipe transitions.

Built-In DVE

The two independent DVEs allow you to reposition graphics and create picture-in-picture compositions with customizable 3D borders, shadows, and lighting. The built-in DVE provides you with great quality and supports position, resize, and scale, all in realtime.

Multiview

Configurable to 16, 13, 10, 7, or 4 up view, it includes monitoring of program, preview, inputs, media players, DSK, and clean feed with optional labels and audio meters.

Professional Broadcast Talkback

The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation UHD 4K Live Production Switcher features built-in talkback that supports a 5-pin XLR connector and a rear-mounted RJ12 connector for interfacing with industry-standard talkback systems. Support for SDI talkback is also included that uses channels 15 and 16 allowing for 2-way communication with other Blackmagic Design cameras. You can even use channels 13 and 14 for engineering talkback. It's even possible to mix the talkback mic into the program audio for voiceovers.

Internal Media Pool

Broadcast-quality RGBA graphics and animations can be stored in the media pool and can be played back instantly using two or four media players. This model can hold up to 20 stills and 200 frame animations.

Chroma Keyers

The ATEM chroma keyer features a colour picker to sample background colours for the automatic generation of the key parameters. With precise controls, you are able to adjust edges and flares along with a foreground colour corrector to match the colour of the background layer to seamless compositions.
You will find four upstream keyers per M/E row for the virtual set building. In a four-camera virtual set, you can use a keyer per camera to create cohesive compositions over a custom background. External image processors or build a fixed camera set by loading pre-rendered still image backgrounds from the media players and media pool.

Multi-Rate 12G-SDI

With up to 10 multi-rate 12G SDI connections, the Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation UHD 4K Live Production Switcher is compatible with various video sources. You can connect equipment in UHD and HD video standards including 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and 2160p formats. Embedded audio from the inputs can also be accommodated to mix the inputs together.

Fairlight Audio Mixer

A built-in Fairlight audio mixer is connected to each SDI input, this includes with 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, noise gate, and expander. Audio is de-embedded from eh SDI sources and passed to the internal mixer for up to 156 input channels.
