Introduction to Business for Photographers is a hands-on introductory course for photographers who are considering running their own photography businesses on a more professional level. The course covers various topics such as basic financial management and costing, risks of running a business, copyright and legalities, important paperwork as well as marketing and marketing messages related to the business of photography

Our Introduction to Business- for photographers’ course is ideal for student photographers and photography enthusiasts who are considering taking their hobby and passion to the next level and start earning money by running a photography business.
Topics covered in this course are introductory and include:
How much to charge, copyright, legal aspects, contracts, and the protection of your work; deciding where to place the risk when running a business.
We look at important financial aspects such as quotations and Invoicing as well as what needs to be included when developing your own marketing toolkit, defining your brand with on-target brand messaging and how to ‘pitch’ for a potential commercial / client shoot.
Although the topics are theoretically based, the small classes are structured around real-life industry related scenarios, case studies and interactive practical projects.

- Introduction on how to draw up quotations, invoices, client contracts and calculate costing.
- Creation of own templates for paperwork such as contracts, Invoices and Quotations, marketing and business cards
