Compact and Lightweight

The MKE 400 is a compact mic that is an unobtrusive addition to your camera and video rig. An integrated shoe mount makes it possible to mount the MKE 400 to your camera.

Higly Directional Sound Pickup

Featuring a super-cardioid polar pattern, meaning sound is only picked up from the front of the mic by an acoustic interference tube while attenuating side- and rear-entry.

Quick and Secure Hookup to Camera, Smartphone, or Tablet

The MKE 400's 3.5mm output port can be connected to a range of devices using the two supplied coiled cables, each featuring a locking 3.5mm TRS plug on one end that prevents accidental disconnection at the mic.
One cable is terminated with a standard 3.5mm TRS plug for compatible hookup to your camera, DSLR, or portable handheld audio recorder, while the other cable has a 3.5mm TRRS plug to allow direct connection to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Headphone Monitoring Port

You are able to check audio levels and monitor your sound using the integrated 3.5mm headphone jack.

Long Battery Life

The Sennheiser MKE 400 runs for up to 100 hours on one pair of AAA batteries (separately available), you will also find a low battery indicator when there is about three hours of battery life remaining. The MKE 400's auto-power function uses plug-in power (2 to 10V) from your device to automatically turn it on and off, preventing unnecessary battery drain.

Built-In Wind Protection Minimizes Wind Noise

Knowing that the MKE 400 may be used in challenging shooting conditions, Sennheiser designed the MKE 400 with built-in wind protection, enabling the mic to lessen undesirable wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners without requiring that you slip on a separate foam windscreen. For maximum reduction of wind noise in outdoor environments, use the included furry windshield.

Manfrotto PIXI Tripod

The Mini Tripod found in the box features a durable, lightweight tripod featuring a ball-head with push button locking. The rubber on the feet ensures that it will not slip on surfaces, and in the folded position, you can use it for handheld use.

Smartphone Clamp

A solid aluminium clamp with soft rubber clamps to protect your phone in use. You are able to rotate the smartphone for portrait or landscape positions. On the bottom, you will find both 1/4"-20 and 3/8" mounting options. On top of the clamp, you will also find a cold shoe mount for compatible accessories to be mounted.
