The lens features a super-fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 to provide superb low light performance, and combined with an 11-blade circular aperture provides beautiful background bokeh.The Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA lens construction is from the legendary ZEISS Planar optical design, and provides an image that is almost free from any sort of distortion.

    An anti-reflective Zeiss T* coating greatly reduces internal reflections to eliminate flare and ghosting, as well as provide rich contrast.


    Fast and near silent Direct Drive SSM autofocus motor

    The Sony Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA lens uses a Direct Drive SSM (Super Sonic wave) autofocus motor to provide fast, quiet AF performance, as well as responsive manual focus handling.


    Physical aperture ring with de-click switch for videos

    The lens features a physical aperture ring and can be de-clicked at the flip of a switch, making it a great option for video in addition to stills.
