    The Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 is a full frame, fast aperture standard zoom lens with 5-stop image stabilisation. The lens covers a full frame optically stabilised focal length range from a wide 24mm to a short telephoto 70mm, providing you with shooting angles that are ideal for landscape, portrait, product, groupshots, street, and travel photography. A fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 helps users shoot at faster shutterspeeds in low light and provides exceptional depth of field control.This second generation SP 24-70mm f/2.8 VC lens from Tamron not only features a better image stabilisation system, but also dramatically improved autofocus performance thanks to a micro-processor unit, and better image quality thanks to special elements and coatings.This lens model features a full-frame EF mount to make it compatible with Canon's full-frame and cropped sensor DSLR cameras.

    F2.8 maximum aperture and 9-blade rounded diaphragm

    The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens features a fast maximum aperture of f/2.8. When shooting at maximum aperture the lens create a shallow depth of field with pleasant bokeh thanks to a 9-bladed rounded aperture. The fast maximum aperture also captures more light to help with low light shooting.


    Special lens elements

    The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens implements a variety of special lens elements to improve image quality. These include: 2 XR (Extra Refractive Index) glass elements to counteract optical aberrations; 3 LD (Low Dispersion) elements to minimize axial chromatic aberrations that can occur with telephoto, as well as transverse chromatic aberrations that can be an issue with wide-angle; 3 GM (glass-molded aspherical) elements; and 1 hybrid aspherical lens element that effectively neutralizes spherical aberrations and distortions to create superior image quality.


    5-stop Optical image stabilisation

    Built-in 5-stop optical image stabilisation helps to reduce unwanted camera shake/movements to provide sharp pictures when shooting slow shutter speeds.


    eBAND & BBAR coatings for reduced ghosting and flare

    The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Gen2 lens features eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings to reduce internal reflections to combat ghosting and flare.


    Protective fluorine coating

    A water-and oil-repellent fluorine coating on the front element's surface protects the lens from fingerprints, dirt and smudges and provides easy cleaning. The coating also provides an enhanced level of durability, and will sustain its effectiveness for years.


    Fast and accurate autofocus

    The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens is features an Ultrasonic Silent Drive autofocus motor equipped with its own micro-processor unit. The processor features high-speed digital signal processing, achieving both excellent responsiveness to signals from the camera and high-precision AF performance.


    Weather-resistant construction

    In addition to the water-and oil-repellent fluorine coating, seals are located at the lens mount area and other critical locations to prevent infiltration of dust, moisture and/or rain drops.


    Tap-in console compatible

    With the optional TAP-in Console you can connect your lens to a pc via USB connection. Once connected you can effortlessly update your lenss firmware as well as fine-tune the autofocus and vibration compensation.
