We are thrilled to announce the return of our exclusive outdoor photographic competition, offering our amazing community the opportunity to be featured along the picturesque backdrop of the Sea Point Promenade and win amazing Canon prizes worth R100 000.
Inspired by the remarkable talents of our local photographers and creators, Orms is committed to providing a platform for artists to showcase their incredible work and bring the beauty of photography directly to the public. Now in its sixth iteration, our Promenade competition offers 20 photographers this chance each year - will you be next?
Building upon the immense success of our past exhibitions, Orms presents the sixth edition: Orms x Canon: Chasing Contrast, where we invite you to strip photography back to its raw power - Black & White.
Chasing Contrast celebrates South Africa's cities, heritage, landscapes, and everyday beauty through the timeless art of monochrome. No colour, no distractions, just light, texture, and emotions. From sweeping natural scenes to the details of urban life, we want to see how you capture the essence of South Africa in Black & White.
Submit your photographs and transform the Promenade into a gallery of powerful, unfiltered stories.

The Exhibition
The Top 20 images will also be displayed as an outdoor exhibition along the Sea Point promenade in close proximity to our current exhibitions.
The exhibition will remain on display for no less than one year, T&C’s do apply.
How to Enter
You will need to fill in a submissions form with your images and your details.
NOTE: Entries are unlimited! You may enter 5 images at a time, as many times as you like.
Please refer to the inspirational images we have provided as a reference for image submissions.
To keep the images consistent, we are only accepting LANDSCAPE format. Upload your images in JPEG format, no larger than 5MB each.
If you are chosen as a finalist, you will hear from us via the email address you provided to request your high-resolution files in TIFF format, as the images will be enlarged to size A0.
No watermarks will be accepted for final prints.

Orms x Canon: Chasing Contrast competition (the “Competition”) is only available for South African residents.
A first, second, third, fourth and Youth winner will be chosen, and this choice is at the judges’ discretion.
20 of the most outstanding images, including the winners, will be exhibited on the Sea Point Promenade.
In both cases, the judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
The submission of AI-generated images is not permitted in the competition.
The Competition runs from 10 September 2025 until midnight on 8 October 2025 and takes place via the submission form here.
Entries must be made by submitting a photograph as described in the “How To Enter” section of this page, via the submission form.
No entries on other platforms or via any other communication channels will be accepted.
The competition is open to all South African citizens except directors, members, partners, employees, agents, service providers, and consultants of The Organisers (Orms and Canon) and their spouses, business partners, and associates.
The prizes are not exchangeable, non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
By submitting your work for the Competition, you acknowledge and allow Orms and Canon to use your original work for promotional purposes for a specified period after the competition.
