Sony A7S III The Latest in Sony Creative Gear

Our patient waiting and months of speculation have finally paid off, just moments ago Sony introduced the world to their new Sony A7S III.

With all the rumours flying around and all of the promises made Sony has finally given us the full low down on the much anticipated Sony A7S III. Here it is, all your questions and wonderings finally answered, let's dive right in and see exactly what this new release has to offer.

Sony has long been hailed as the preferred option for the video focused creator, and their new A7S III is no exception to this rule. Complete with 4K/120p video, 10 bit 4:2:2 colour, vari-angle LCD screen complete with touch control and fast phase-detection autofocus what can't the Sony A7S III do?

While everything in this new camera has seen a complete re-design the focus on light sensitivity that Sony is famous for. Using a low-resolution 12.1MP full-frame sensor allows Sony to amp up that light sensitivity and ensure it delivers with the addition of a brand new Exmor R CMOS sensor giving you twice the read of any conventional sensor.
All resolutions and frame rates provide 10 bit 4:2:2 colour giving you smoother colour gradients and allows you to push colour grading to levels we could only have dreamed of.

When it comes to stills the Sony A7R III and its 12.1MP full-frame sensor give you super clean and sharp stills, with beautifully rich and natural colours that depending on where you're choosing to display them, shouldn't need too much work in post. While the blisteringly fast autofocus means getting your shot is almost effortless in both stills and video. The addition of 16-bit raw external recording up to 60p, using the full-size HDMI port gives you the option to externally record while still recording internally to dual card slots. Did we mention that there's no limit to recording? The new Sony A7S III can record for up to an hour without overheating!

We all know that Sony's A7S series has long been heralded as the low light recording champion, and this new addition is no exception. The ISO ranges aren't changed from the A7S II but this new edition offers a cleaner output than its family members.

On both stills and video, autofocus has been where Sony has shone, with 759 phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points gives you 92% coverage. Real-time eye AF is included for both humans and animals along with improved touch tracking allowing you to change your focus whilst recording. Which, as we're sure you will agree is a complete game changer!

The 5-axis in-body stabiliser is back in Sony's new release. Giving you the perfect shot every time. In video, Sony has included the option for active stabilisation which gives a 10% crop while still maintaining 4K resolution, similar to that of Sony's ZV1.
