If you have mastered the comprehensive breakdown of colour grading, this advanced course is your next step to video editing success. Over five classes, you gain insight into and develop knowledge of tools that define high-end colour work in digital media, film and television.
The course opens up with an extensive breakdown of video scopes from the Luna Waveform, RGB Parade to the Vectorscope, educating you on how to read and use them successfully to achieve a technically balanced and visually intentionally image.
Thereafter, you will move into an in-depth comparison of Primary Wheels versus Log Wheels, diving deep beyond surface-level knowledge to understand modules such as skin tone treatment and isolating colour using parallel nodes. This section also taps into HDR nodes.
The power of Qualifiers will also be explored, teaching you how to isolate and refine specific colours within a scene with precision, which is an essential skill. The course also touches on different cameras and codecs, where we will educate you on how to handle footage from a variety of camera systems and convert log footage into a final product.
Advanced colour manipulation tools such as Colour Slice, Colour Warp and Chroma Warp are introduced which gives you the ability to shift hues and control saturation without degrading the quality of your image or video. An in-depth study of HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value grading techniques) will be conducted alongside an industry-standard CineLUT.
The course completes with dedicated sessions that focus on building your colour grading portfolio and still library, formalising your work you have created throughout the course into a professional showcase ready to present to future clients. All classes are practical and hands-on, with real-world footage and exercises designed to increase your understanding at every stage.
