The Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder is a compact on-camera monitor and recorder that is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications, from professional sets to content creation.
Some notable features of the Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder include both an HDMI input and output, camera control, a bright 1500 cd/m² touchscreen display for a clear view in bright sunlight. The NinjaRAW also features ProRes raw recording to either CFexpress Type B or USB-C, a Tally Light, and all codecs, such as ProRes RAW/DNx/H.265, are built in.
5.2" Touchscreen Display
The Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder features a 5.2" IPS touchscreen that offers 1920x1080 resolution along with a 1500 cd/m² display that delivers rich, accurate colour precision, even in bright sunlight conditions.
Accurate colour reproduction and high-quality monitoring of your footage is provided with the 8/10-bit colour processing, HDR support, Rec. 709 colour gamut, along with Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support.
Updated Linux Operating System
The AtomOS Linux operating system provides updated tools, a sleeker design, and more efficient, cooler operation.
Comprehensive Colour and Metadata
The use of selected Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon log formats. You can upload custom 3D LUTs to the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.
You can record raw metadata such as white balance, exposure index, shutter speed/angle, iris f-stop, ISO, gamma, and gamut.
HDMI Input/Output
The HDMI input on the Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder supports up to 8K30, DCI/UHD 4K60, and 1080p120 video.
Loop-through output passes the incoming HDMI signal from the camera to another device such as an external monitor, wireless transmitter, or live streaming encoder.
Tally Light
The built-in tally light is an easy process for displaying when the camera it is connected/mounted to is recording or broadcasting.
When recording, the light turns red, then green, which indicates to the talent that the camera is on preview or standby.
Recording/USB Features
On the side of the Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder, you will find a CFexpress Type B card slot and dual USB-C recording outputs on the back, which support ultrafast data transfer rates based on PCIe and MVMe protocols for futureproofing.
In addition to recording directly to storage, the USB-C ports can also be used for calibration, uploading custom 3D LUTs, adding audio devices, and firmware updates.
Following the latest free update, the Ninja RAW can record ProRes RAW from the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. RAW recording on the R6III supports up to 6960 x 3672p30 and 4320 x 2278p60.
Power Options
On the back of the Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder, you will find a L-Series battery plate with support for an NP-F L-series battery. DC power can also be provided to the RAW using a separately available battery eliminator.
A USB-C port supports 30W PD power with the included cable.
SegmentPro
Using the SegmentPro feature, you are able to segment/split long recordings into smaller user-defined chunks. This ten makes it easy to share files to minimise the risk of losing a single larger file.
Comprehensive Monitoring Tools
For maximum convenience, the Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder offers a comprehensive suite of simple, one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, false colour (including ARRI and EL Zone), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT.
To correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups, the NinjaRAW also provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring.
Control Options
The Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2" HDMI Monitor/Recorder features multifunction control buttons that work in tandem with the touchscreen interface, which allows for intuitive onboard control.
Auto HDMI camera trigger is supported by Canon and Sony cameras using the Atomos Open Standard.
LANC control and calibration can be accessed using a separately available USB-C to serial connection cable.
