Updated Control Interface

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 features two large source select buttons for audio mixing, recording, and streaming control. Along with output selection buttons allowing you to change the video output between cameras, program, and multiview. Additional tactile control is provided via a new hardware fader. On the rear panel, there are HDMI connections for cameras or computers, XLR and MADI audio inputs, USB for webcam out, Thunderbolt for record/playback, and four HDMI outputs for program/preview video.

M/E Switcher

With the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2, you are able to switch, add effects, colour grade, and key in real time using the control surface buttons or the software control panel. Blackmagic Studio and URSA Mini/Broadcast/Micro Studio cameras and be controlled from the switcher using the CCU functions.
The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 supports up to nine layers, with four upstream and two downstream keyers, up to four chroma keyers, up to four linear keyers, two DVE with borders and drop shadow, five pattern generators, and two colour generators. As it is designed for live streaming or webcam, you will find four HDMI outputs to feed monitors, and support up to 16-screen multiview.

ISO Layout

The ISO label in the name of the Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 means you can individually record each of the eight input videos as an MP4, as well as the program output via one of the USB-C ports. A DaVinci Resolve project file is generated, so you can clean it up and make changes later. This versatile switcher's eight independent HDMI inputs accept all popular HD signals up to 1080p60.

Thunderbolt for Live Reply

With Thunderbolt on this model, you get full and key playback, capture, Ethernet access to the CFexpress cards, and trickle power, all with a single computer connection. This means you can use DaVinci Resolve as a full live-action replay system.
DaVinci Resolve can show a live input of the switcher, and when you press the Point of Interest (POI) button, all 8 ISO files will be playing, so you can select cameras and run replays.

Stream Live

This switcher is ideal for interviews, as you can connect multiple cameras for close-ups of the host or interviewee, as well as wide shots of the space.
It also features a built-in hardware streaming engine for live streaming via the Ethernet connection without the need for a computer. Meaning, you can now stream to YouTube, Facebook and Twitch in high quality without dropped frame rates with simpler settings.

4G and 5G Phone Support

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 supports connecting an Apple or Android phone to the USB port to use mobile data. It's also a great backup for the main Ethernet connection, so you don't drop your stream if your hardwired connection gets interrupted.

Media Pool

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 allows you to edit your live event as it can record multiple video streams. This includes clean feeds of all inputs and programs, all at the same time. Your media pool images are also saved with the video files.
Imagine re-editing your show with new colour grades, effects, and graphics. Even the audio sources are all recorded, so you can professionally remix your audio.

Recording

Direct recording to a USB flash disk or CFexpress cards is also supported. You can now get longer recording times in the same H.264 video files with AAC audio, which is the same as you streamed. This enables you to directly upload to video sites such as YouTube or Vimeo.
You are able to record to multiple disks via a USB hub or Blackmagic MultiDock, so when one disk is full, recording will automatically go to the next disk. You are also able to remotely trigger recording on a connected BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera.

Software Integration

All files are saved as DaVinci Resolve project files, meaning that you can, with a single click, open your live production as a video edit. If files are recorded as Blackmagic Waw camera files, you are able to relink those and take advantage of DaVinci Resolve's colour correction abilities.
The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is also compatible with the ATEM Software Control app to access full audio mixing with effects, load still frames, save the switcher state as an XML file, and do macro programming. If you need clip playback, you can even control HyperDeck disk recorders via Ethernet.

Video Effects

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 Switcher includes a range of built-in video effects, which is one of the benefits of producing professional production value. Instant switching between video sources is possible by using the cut button. There are duration buttons for video effects allowing for 0.5-, 1-, 1.5-, and 2-second settings.

Audio Features

You will find two new independent XLR audio inputs here, you can connect desktop and lapel microphones. Alternatively, you can connect a media player for introduction music after the live stream commences, but before the program starts. When doing interviews, you will find two extra stereo inputs to ensure the host and guest both have lapel microphones.
All HDMI inputs integrate a Fairlight audio mixer, and both microphone inputs are connected to the audio mixer, so you can mix live from all audio sources. It also adds a headphone output.

Format Conversion

Each of the HDMI inputs features its own dedicated standards converter. This means the Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 Switcher will automatically convert 1080p, 1080i, and 720p sources to the switcher video standard. By default, video formats will set the format automatically, however, you are able to set the switcher to any video standard.
The available HDMI outputs are true "aux" outputs, which enable you to clean-switch each HDMI input to the output. For low-latency eSport, you will also be able to "direct" switch input 1 to the HDMI output. Plus, ATEM Mini Extreme models support two low-latency direct loops. On the HDMI output display, you have a full multiview that lets you see all inputs, program, preview, and streaming status on a single monitor.
