Use DaVinci Resolve for Media Player/Replay

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G is a capture and playback solution for Thunderbolt computers that are specifically designed for playout to live production switchers or large broadcast systems. Some more features include 10G Ethernet and power to your computer.
You will also find 12G-SDI outputs for fill and Key playback, 12G-SDI capture, and 10G Ethernet for accessing network storage and laptop power over a single Thunderbolt connection. Further, you will find an independent Thunderbolt connection on the front, this enables you to walk right up to the panel and plug in a laptop.

Broadcast Design

Built-in, you will find everything needed for broadcast playback. This device can be placed on the desktop, or it can be mounted using a Blackmagic Design Universal Rack Shelf.
On the front panel, you will find an LCD with video, audio meter status information that includes input, video standard, and the depth of the record/playback frame buffer. You will also find a headphone socket, speaker, and speaker enable button.
Where the Blackmagic Media Player is mounted in a control room, you will find a from Thunderbolt connection allowing you to plug a computer in right from the front.

Fast Thunderbolt Connection

Using a single cable the Media Player includes fast Thunderbolt with video capture and playback, as well as 10G Ethernet and laptop power, all over a single cable. This Thunderbolt speed allows you to handle large 4:4:4:4 and 4:2:2:4 files with alpha channels, in all SD, HD, and Ultra HD video standards up to 2160p60.

Replay/Monitoring/Desktop Extension Connections

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G features a lot of connections for monitoring, extended desktop and fast networking, all with a single Thunderbolt connection.
Key outputs and the program fill can be muted to allow for the video not to key on a switcher until the replay has started. The next replay can easily be set up as the monitoring outputs are always active. 12G-SDI video allows live input monitoring of the switcher multiview for replay.
You will even find an extended desktop for the DaVinci UI and a USB expansion for a keyboard and mouse.

Independent Fill and Key Outputs

Dual 12G-SDI video outputs, allow you to connect live production switchers making it possible for you to overlay graphics with transparency. You will find internal hardware support for both RGBA and YUVA frame buffers. RGBA graphics will automatically transcode the RGB pixels to 10-bit YUV on the fill output and the alpha channel to the 10-bit key output. Then the two SDi outputs are connected to a live production switcher where they can then be keyed over video. Transparent elements in the images offer smooth blending provided by the key output.

10G Ethernet

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G gives you access to network storage then the computer is connected to the Thunderbolt port. This means you do not need more Ethernet adapters, as you get video and network with a single cable.
10G Ethernet is 10 times faster than regular Ethernet, enabling enough speed to allow you to handle lots of video streams.

10-Bit Broadcast Video Quality

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G is designed to be supported by the highest-quality video. Capture and playback are supported for popular video formats such as Apple ProRes and DNxHD, or even 10-bit uncompressed. 10-bit is the most commonly used television standard as colours can be the precision of 8-bit video.
This means you get the sharpest green screen keying seamless VFX compositions and superior colour correction.

Works with Popular Software

Support is given to all popular software, this gives you the freedom to work with tools you already know and love. Compatible with DaVinci Resolve for broadcast editing and colour correction.
Capture and playback are supported at the same time, you will even have the live grading feature in DaVinci Resolve.
The Media Player 10G also supports other editing and visual effects, which includes, Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, Fusion, After Effects, Photoshop, and more.

Broadcast Graphics Tools

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G works with Fusion which most graphic designers are familiar with, this is also the effects software integrated into DaVinci Resolve, as well as Abode After Effects and Photoshop. Fusion Studio is a powerful node-based compositing VFX tool with 2D and 3D environments, hundreds of effects and more.

Supports Numerous Resolutions and Formats

Provide full support to the latest Ultra HD video standards on the 12G-SDI video connections. Therefore it is ideal, as you can now migrate to Ultra HD and 4K work. Software can be updated to add new television standards later.

RS-422 for Broadcast Automation Control

The Blackmagic Design Media Player 10G features an RS-422 deck control input connection that allows you to remote control software to support the remote port using broadcast automation systems. The connection also supports extra commands for the Advanced Media Protocol for managing disk recorders.
