The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 is not limited to being used with a live switcher because it also records to Blackmagic RAW to USB disks so it can also be used in any situation where a tripod is used.

Studio Camera Design

Featuring a single and compact design, the distinctive Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 offers all the benefits of a large studio camera due to the combination of camera and viewfinder in one. This Blackmagic Studio Camera G2 4K Plus features a lightweight carbon fibre-reinforced polycarbonate body but is still packed with innovative technologies. Designed for live productions, therefore you will find a large 7" viewfinder to track and frame shots easily.

Advanced Low-Light Performance

An ISO of up to 25.600 makes it possible to film in the daytime as well as at nighttime. 400 ISO is the primary native for use under studio lighting, while the secondary high base ISO of 3200 is ideal for shooting in low light conditions.

Cinematic Images in Live Production

The same imaging technology as a digital film camera is possible with the 4K sensor combined with the BlackMagic generation 5. Combined with the built-in DaVinci colour corrector it is possible to get much better images than lower-grade broadcast cameras. The 13 stops of dynamic range make blacks brighter and whites brighter, good for colour correction. The sensor features a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is great for both HD and UHD work. Plus, all BlackMagic models support from 23.98 up to 60 fps.

Affordable Photographic Lenses

With the MFT lens mount, the BlackMagic cameras are compatible with a wide variety of affordable photographic lenses. It is also possible to the adjust focus and zoom demand remotely, this means zoom and focus can be adjusted without camera shake as when done manually.

Frame Shots with Large 7" Viewfinder

A high-resolution 7" touchscreen makes framing shots much easier transforming the way you work with the camera. Making it possible for onscreen overlays such as record parameters, histograms, focus peaking indicators, frame guides, and more. You can even apply 3D LUTs for monitoring shots with the desired colour and look. The included sun hood can be folded down for the protection of the screen while travelling and when not in use.

Physical and Touchscreen Controls

Featuring physical buttons and knobs as well as controls on the touch screen.

Built-In Tally for On-Air Status

BlackMagic Studio Cameras all feature a large tally light shining red for on-air, green for preview, and orange indicating ISO recording.

Communicate with the Director via Talkback

The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 have SDI connections which includes talkback which makes it possible for the switcher operator to communicate with the cameras during live broadcasts. So directors can talk camera operators through shot selection.

Low-Cost Camera Control via SDI

Protocols embedded in the SDIs of the camera make all ATEM switchers capable of controlling the cameras. This can be set up easily because all ATEM switchers broadcast control commands from the switcher's SDI program output to the camera via the SDI program input. Colour correction, tally, and lens control can be adjusted by the switcher and sent to all cameras.

USB Expansion Port for Accessories

The BlackMagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 also enables the user to add external disks to the unit through the high-speed USB-C port, this enables you to record high-quality 12-bit BlackMagic RAW files to a USB flash disk. That means you can simply plug the flash disk into a computer and start editing with no waste of time copying.

BlackMagic RAW Quality

Some file formats like H.264 that are highly compressed and add noise and artefacts may cause senor detail to be lost forever. Therefore the BlackMagic RAW format is designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from the camera.

Built-In Microphones

Included in the BlackMagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 you will find built-in microphones which are shock and wind-resistant so you will still get good quality sound. Mics placed on either side of the screen give a better stereo sound than regular video cameras. You will also find a 3.5mm audio output which enables you to connect video camera microphones, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Monitor Program Video

The G2 allows you to view program video from the switcher at the press of the PGM button. The switcher audio can be monitored via the built-in speaker.
This option is speciffically useful at larger live productions where camera operators can still see what is broadcasted live to be alert for when their camera needs to be used.

The BlackMagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 uses the BlackMagic operating system which is easy to use and the same as all other BlackMagic Design Cameras, this makes it easy for the user to change between BlackMagic cameras. The OP enables the user to adjust focus/exposure tools, 3D LUT's, HDR, metadata entry, timecode BlackMagic RAW settings, and more onscreen easily.

Supports 3D LUTs for Film Looks

3D LUTs may be used to convert images on the viewfinder display from looking flat and washed out, as the BlackMagic RAW files use logarithmic film gamma in preserving dynamic range. This feature allows the gamma images looking nicer on the LCD as the 3D LUT converts the image just before it is displayed on the LCD. The 3D LUT is transported in the RAW file, so you can always disable the feature when not needed. Enables the feature to be applied, or not in post-production editing.

All Blackmagic Studio Cameras come with a universal 12 VDC locking power connector. Along with a power supply with different AC sockets for different countries.
