The Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera is a versatile three-in-one powerhouse featuring a Broadcast Camera, Live Studio Camera, and Digital Cine Camera in one. Featuring generation 5 colour science, and still supporting UHD 4K as the predecessor. The upgraded G 2 model can also be used as a 6K digital film camera recording in BlackMagic RAW format.
The Black Magic Design URSA Broadcast G-2 Camera features a lens mount compatible with 2/3" B4 lenses as well as an active EF mount adaptor enabling you to use a wide variety of professional cinema lenses. It allows you to apply 3D LUTs for cinema-like looks, has built-in optical ND filters, features 12G-SDI input and output, captures audio via two XLR inputs, and can record using Prores 422 and Blackmagic RAW onto CFast 2.0 or SD UHS-II cards.
With a body constructed from lightweight and durable magnesium, the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G 2 Camera will be able to withstand any working environment. There are two options to power the unit, the preinstalled V-Mount plate can be used to power the camera with high capacity V-Mount Batteries or the included 12 VDC power adaptor can be used.
A downloadable copy of Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio is also included, as well as access to future camera software updates.
Three Cameras in One
Broadcast Production Camera
As a perfect solution for broadcasters the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera features ENG camera controls around the camera enabling them to be located by feel. Amazing image quality can be produced in natural light, with the low-light sensor.
Live Studio Camera
Including an advanced YRGB colour corrector built-in and full remote camera control. You can use B4 ENG or large studio box lenses, or even change the lens mount and use any lens. Plus, the optional Blackmagic focus and zoom demands let you control the lens from the tripod handles.
Digital Cinema Camera
Featuring an advanced 6K digital film sensor the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera. Lens mounts can also be changed, PL or EF lenses can be used.
True cinema-quality images can be produced with the high dynamic range, exceptional low-light performance, and BlackMagic's RAW.

Digital Film Quality for Broadcast
Employing the 6K sensor enables you to use resolutions of up to 6144 x 3456, making it flexible enough for broadcast as well as digital film work.
Low-Light Performance
With next level low light performance you can shoot in almost any light condition, even moonlight.
The Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 features gain from -12dB (100 ISO) up to +36dB (25,600 ISO), so it's optimized to reduce grain and noise in images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. The primary native ISO is 400, which is ideal for use under studio lighting. Then the secondary high base ISO of 3200 is perfect when shooting in dimly lit environments. The gain can be set via a camera switch, the LCD menu, or remotely using the SDI remote camera control protocol.
Built-In Optical ND Filters
With the use of built-in 1/4, /1/16th and 1/64th stop filter you can easily reduce the amount of light entering the camera and reaching the sensor. This feature enables you to use different combinations of aperture and shutter angles in a wider range of situations.
Common Media and File Formats
With the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G 2 Camera you can record in ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 into quick time files. The new Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 model can even record into H.265 for incredibly small files at 60:1 to 285:1 compression ratios, in 10-bit broadcast quality.
Dual Media Slots for Nonstop Recording
The unit features two CFast 2.0 as well as dual SD/UHS-II card slots. Meaning, while recording and the one card is full the recording will continue to the second card effectively doubling your recording time.
USB Type-C for Recording Direct to External Media Disks
The Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera features a high-speed USB Type-C connection port enabling you to record to external devices.
Strong and Lightweight Magnesium Design
The Black Magic URSA Broadcast G-2 Camera features a super-strong, lightweight magnesium alloy body that's perfectly balanced and designed to be comfortable to use all day. It features familiar, externally mounted switches and controls that give you direct access to the most important camera settings. The controls are laid out logically, making them easy to locate by feel, so you can adjust settings without having to look at the buttons. You also get a foldout touchscreen for monitoring, viewing camera status, and changing settings using on-screen menus. URSA Broadcast G2 also includes standard 12G-SDI connections, XLR audio inputs, USB Type-C, and an industry-standard 4-pin XLR broadcast 12 VDC connection.
External Status Display
Even in bright light the LCD screen is designed to be easily seen displaying record, locked, and reference timecodes, along with the current shooting frame rate, shutter angle, aperture, white balance, gain, and iris. Additionally, it also displays battery indicators, card recording status as well as audio meters.
Load Custom 3D LUT's to Recreate Film Looks
Cameras shoot logarithmic colour space to preserve dynamic range. When these images are viewed on a monitor they may look washed out.
When the 3D LUT's are added you can apply a look to the monitor to get an idea of what the finished image will look like. This can be applied temporarily for monitoring only or can be recorded into the BlackMagic RAW to be used in post-production. Industry-standard 17- and 33-point 3D LUT files or you can work with the built-in LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to Rec.2020, and more.
BlackMagic RAW Quality
Blackmagic RAW is a revolutionary new format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from your camera. Common video files have a lot of video processing, so you can lose some of the original sensor detail. Blackmagic RAW eliminates this problem, so you get stunning images with incredible detail and rich colour throughout the whole post-production pipeline. Blackmagic RAW also saves camera settings as metadata, so you can change ISO, white balance, and exposure later in DaVinci Resolve. Plus, the files are small and fast, so editing responsiveness is incredible. Only Blackmagic RAW gives you the highest quality, smallest files, and fastest performance.
Wireless Bluetooth Camera Remote Control
When the Black Magic Design URSA Broadcast G 2 Camera is mounted on a boom, or other hard to reach location, the built-in Bluetooth can be activated for the camera to be controlled from up to 10m away.
Compatible with Industry-Standard Batteries
All URSA cameras, including the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera is compatible with a wide variety of plates from different manufacturers. You will find a pre-installed plate on the back of the camera, all BlackMagic V-Mount plates will be compatible with this unit. Additionally, the included 4-pin XLR power connector, supporting 12 to 18V for connecting external power supplies and battery packs.
