Canon adds the latest flagship Pro Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera to its range, a camera thats highly respected by Pro wildlife and sports photographers. Sporting an impressive DIGIC X Processor, combined with an updated 20.1MP full-frame Image Sensor to produce quality images at all times. The camera also improves in various ways, with a new era in Autofocus speed and accuracy that consists of a brand-new AF sensor, along with 28 times more resolution than the 1D X Mark II; updated CMOS Sensor and DIGIC Processors; advanced AF algorithms for unparalleled focus tracking, regardless of the situation. An advantage added to Live View and Video is Dual Pixel CMOS AF that covers approximately 90x100 percent of the sensor with 525 AF areas.
It only gets better with all the advanced technology built-in, only to produce astonishing stills and video, even if ISO is taken to higher levels, quality will remain along with 4K video at 60p and even the options of capturing RAW video or 10-bit video with Canon Log, both recorded internally to CFexpress cards. Other features include high speed camera communications such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy and GPS. Other performance improvements include a blistering 16fps frame rate with the optical viewfinder and 20fps when utilising either the mechanical or electronic shutter in live view mode with full AE and Autofocus; 5.5K RAW internal video recording; no crop in 4K or RAW video recording.
Remarkable Image Quality with 20.1MP Image Sensor and DIGIC X Image Processor
With an updated Image Sensor, sporting a 20.1MP full-frame CMOS Image Sensor, the 1D X Mark III DSLR Camera from Canon is capable of producing absolutely astonishing image quality. Improving on various specifications: the sensor is paired with a brand-new designed low pass filter, which is used to eliminate moir and other aliasing for an enhanced and clean image. The DIGIC X Image Processor also contributes to an enhanced and blistering 20 fps of continuous shooting of up to 1000 frame sequences; and allowing you to boost your ISO sensitivity range up to 819200 to perform well in low-light conditions and image quality will still remain. However, it affords a broad native sensitivity range of ISO 100-102400.
Incredible 4K and 5.5K RAW Video Recording
Thanks to its updated DIGIC X Image Processor and incredible image sensor, the Canon EOS 1D X Mark III Camera is capable of capturing astonishing video footage that will fit right in and allow new levels of image quality. The EOS-1D X Mark III allows you to record oversampled DCI 4K/60p video internally by utilising its full width of the sensor, allowing the lens to see the exact same when capturing stills. Capture in either 17:9 DCI or 16:9 UHD Aspect ratios and record the results either in H.264 codec or as 10-bit H.265 codec when using Canon Log. However, when recording like this you will notice low contrast, so its best to then colour grade in post-production.
You can also record outstanding 5.5K Raw video footage internally to its CFexpress cards, where you wont lose image quality at all. This will leave you with more natural colour gradation and more dynamic range, such as detail in highlights and shadows that are 12 stops apart.
5-Axis Image Stabilisation
Built-in to the robust Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is an effective 5-Axis Image Stabilisation, which is great for when youre filming handheld, enabling smooth video footage by smoothing out shake thats caused by camera movement. Additionally, theres an enhanced mode that will be able to recognise and correct kinds of motion encountered when operating the camera, and tracking a moving subject.
Intelligent Autofocus that will Blow your Mind
With enhanced and advanced technology built-in to this powerhouse Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera, youll be able to capture images with outstanding clarity and sharpness, which is all thanks to deep learning AF algorithms thats capable of recognising all kinds of situations, such as allowing it to track faces that are hidden by goggles or a helmet. Specifically designed to deliver speed, accuracy and precision at all times, regardless of how fast the action moves, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera has been designed to beat it.
Mirror System
Incorporating a mirror system into the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III camera ensures that the camera is capable of focusing accurately at high continuous shooting speeds. How it functions: the mirror has been designed to return as quickly as possible to their resting positions between each shot and with no mirror bounce taking place, if they are to continue to direct light onto the Autofocus sensor. Additionally, this is something that takes place up to 16 times every second when capturing images.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF
The Dual Pixel CMOS AF System enables the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Camera to be utilised as a mirrorless camera, where as in Live View mode the autofocusing is performed by Canons well-known Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. Specifically designed to turn virtually every pixel on the cameras sensor into a remarkable imaging pixel and a phase-detection AF pixel. It can also operate quickly when recording video, capturing stills, and for tracking moving objects around the frame. The reason for implementing it into the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Camera is specifically to recognise focus-capable pixels over the whole height of the frame and over 90% of its width.
Continuous Shooting of up to 20 fps
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III with all its advanced technology ensures that you can capture up to 20 fps when shooting in live view mode, which can be done either by utilising its mechanical shutter to photograph motion smoothly or the electronic shutter for absolutely silent shooting. However, making use of the cameras optical viewfinder, the continuous shooting rate is 16 fps which is major achievement for a DSLR camera. Additionally, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark IIIs shutter is rated for 500 000 shots, and offering new levels of speed and reliability that will keep you confident and going, regardless of when the pressure strikes.
Dual CFexpress Card Slots
Youll never run out of storage with the 1D X Mark III Camera, as it uses CFexpress the next generation of storage from the Compact Flash Association. Design to take the punch, featuring significantly higher write speeds, which will enable 20 fps shooting in RAW and JPEF mode for an incredible 1000 shots without the camera buffering, and also allowing internal 5.5K RAW video recording. As per feedback from professional photographers: its possible of storing your stills to one card and video files to the other card.
Hyper-Accurate Exposure Metering
Featuring a dedicated 400k RGB+IR metering sensor in the 1D-X Mark III from Canon, enables enhanced exposure accuracy, with 400 000 pixels grouped into 216 metering zones. When utilising the cameras optical viewfinder, its brightness is assessed in each zone and exposure is carefully calculated with exact accuracy.
Stay Connected with Wireless Networking
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Camera allows you to constantly stay connected to your smart devices and computers, especially if you want files to be transferred over really quickly. This is all thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, and the Camera Connect app and Digital Photo Professional Express App that allows you to browse, edit, retouch your images accordingly and to transmit photos when youre on the move. Your device can also be utilised as a remote control for the camera, allowing you to compose on the devices screen, changing the camera settings from a distance and also allowing you to shoot stills and video in your comfort space while having your camera setup.
Other Features:
- A built-in 3.2 2.1m-dot LCD Touchscreen, providing photographers with an intuitive control over playback and menu navigation, as well as for framing accurately.
- Utilising the LP-E19 rechargeable lithium-ion battery ensures that youll get more out, with enhanced performance and more still images of up to 1210 shots on a single charge compared to previous 1D cameras.
- The design features a solid magnesium alloy body, making it dust- and weather-resistant which is suitable for operating in inclement weather conditions.
- EOS iTR AF X autofocus system, that used 191 points for quickly and accurately acquiring focus.
- To achieve wired connectivity, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Camera allows you to connect either via USB Type-C, mini HDMI, headphone, microphone, an N3 remote, as well as Ethernet ports that are built-in.
- CR3 RAW Files - Can be shot uncompressed for maximum image quality with huge dynamic range and 16 384 gradations per colour channel, or shot as compressed, to save up to 40% file size with very noticeable drop in image quality.
