Optional PL-Mount Adapter

Using the separately available Canon PL to RF Lens Mount Adapter for EOS C400 (NOT Included) you can easily widen your choices of pro cinema "glass" wherewith you can use lenses with the ARRI PL lenses mount. On the adapter, you will find side lock plates for a secure fit, and transfers Cooke /i metadata for VF/X and other post-production uses.

Dual Media Slots

Fans of proxy recordings will appreciate both the CFexpress Type-B and SD card slots built into the C 400. This enables sub-recording and proxy capture using the SD card slot while simultaneously recording up to raw on the CFexpress card.

Mechanical ND Filters

The Canon EOS C400 6K Full-Frame Digital Cinema Camera offer the ability to quickly dial in up to 10 stops of ND filtration, this makes run-and-gun shooting or event coverage more efficient. This near-instant exposure adjustment enables you to maintain your chosen depth of field since it negates the need to stop down on your lens.

Improved Autofocus Function

For the moments where you do not have a focus puller available, you have Canon's improved dual-pixel autofocus function assisted by a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Intelligent tracking lets you follow the eyes, face, head, and body areas of a subject with increased accuracy. Select animal eyes, faces and bodies can be detected by the intelligent autofocus without being affected by their size or facial orientation.

Production and Broadcast Features

You will find a variety of interfaces that make the Canon EOS C400 6K Full-Frame Digital Cinema Camera suitable for both film and broadcast applications. These ports include 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, and HDMI video outputs, dual mini-XLR audio inputs, timecode, genlock, and return video DIN connectors, and a 12-pin lens port.
An automatic clear-scan mode for the shutter detects your light source's frequency, helping to reduce or eliminate the flickering sometimes found in LED walls.

LCD, Handle, and Grip

Some additional features to improve the ergonomics of the Canon C 400 include an upgraded touchscreen LCD, grip, and battery. For when shooting handheld, on a tripod, or shoulder-mounted, the touchscreen has both angle and length adjustments. The ergonomic, articulated handgrip features a multifunction shoe, three assignable buttons, and captive screws that won't get lost when you're mounting or detaching the grip.

Ethernet/Wi-Fi Control and IP Streaming

The ethernet port and Canon's IP-based XC protocol on the Canon EOS C400 6K Full-Frame Digital Cinema Camera can be used to add RC-IP1000, RC-IP100, or third-party remote-control shading to your broadcast-style shoot. Canon RCCA (Remote Control Camera Application) is fully compatible with the Canon C 400, which makes it possible to control camera settings and multicamera control. IP streaming using the SRT protocol is also supported.
