Canon introduces the new age of filmmaking with the latest generation Canon EOS C70 Camera. The camera sports a Super 35mm DGO 4K sensor thats designed to bridge DILC and Cinema Cameras and a powerful DIGIC DV7 image processor, and the first cinema camera to boast an RF Mount.
Having an RF mount, definitely means enhanced video quality that will be produced while filming, and also an enhanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF with iTR AF X, to ensure intelligent Tracking and Recognition. Key features to this compact, powerhouse system include a High Dynamic Range with 16+ Stops; a High Frame Rate recording of up to 4K @ 120 fps; a Dual SD card slot that supports simultaneous recording & multiple formats; and professional I/O terminals. The Canon EOS C70 supports a variety of recording formats that include XF-AVC (MXF) ALL-I or Long GOP, 4:2:2 10-bit; MP4 H.265/HEVC, 4:2:2 10-bit and MP4 H.265, 4:2:0 8-bit.
The design features a system that include a large 3.5 LCD Touchscreen with a display resolution of 2.76m-dots (1280 x 720 x RGB), and also offers a variety of touchscreen functions, such as Focus point selection, shooting setting adjustments, and Start/Stop recording.
Powerful Super 35mm DGO (Dual Gain Output) 4K Sensor
Packed into the compact Canon EOS C70 Digital Cinema Camera Body cinema camera is a powerful and enhanced Super 35mm Dual Gain Output 4K Sensor. The enhanced sensor contributes in a variety of ways and ensures high dynamic ranges in excess of 16+ Stops and is also compatible with Canon's exclusive Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus technology, ensuring superior video quality with really low noise levels by reading out each pixel with different grains.
Powerful DIGIC DV7 Image Processor
Powered into this compact, yet powerhouse cinema camerais Canons cutting-edge DIGIC DV7 image processor that contributes to many of its advance functions such as high frame recording, its Dual Gain Output (DGO), Cinema Raw Light Recording, Electronic Image Stabilisation, Dual Pixel Autofocus, and proxy recording. The powerful DIGIC DV7 Image Processor also takes the extensive RAW information thats being captured from the imaging sensor and then processes it for output.

The C70 Digital Cinema Camera offers you the functionality to record outstanding 4K video with extremely high frame rates of up to 120 fps, which is all thanks to its advanced DIGIC DV7 image processor.
RF Lens Mount
The Canon EOS C70 Digital Cinema Camera is the first professional cinema camera to features an RF Lens Mount. Having an RF mount helps by enhancing the Autofocusing and to deliver high-speed communication between the camera and lens.
Large 3.5-inch LCD Touchscreen
For improved viewing, Canon has incorporated a large 3.5-inch LCD Touchscreen into the Canon EOS C70 Digital Cinema Camera Body, with a display resolution of 2.76m-dots (1280 x 720 x RGB). With a high resolution display, definitely means enhanced viewing, and also offers a variety of touch screen functions that include Focus Point Selection, Shooting Setting Adjustments, and the Start/Stop Recording function.
Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus with support for Touch AF and Face Detection
Canon has packed a powerful and enhanced Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus feature in the Canon EOS C70 Digital Cinema Camera, which is sensor based, phase detection autofocus technology leading to smooth, high-performance focus tracking and achieving rapid autofocus that can be achieved with the support for Touch AF and Face Detection. With the unique Canon-developed technology that utilises two photo diodes per pixel for autofocus and then combines them for recording high-quality video. Additionally, this also enables precise focus to be maintained, even when shooting moving subjects, which is vital for 4K UHD capture.
EF to RF Mount Adapter
If you have existing full frame EF lenses, you'll still be able to mount them to the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera when utilising the EF-EOS R 0.71x Adapter. The adapter will ensure that it still maintains the original angle of view of a full frame lens when used on the EOS C70. Additionally, it also increases the light transmission, to offer you with an image that's one stop lighter; and superior communication between the lens and camera.
Canon Log 2 and 3 Modes
Incorporated into the professional Canon C70 Camera are both Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 Gamma modes, which is great for taking into post-production letting you have full control over editing your video footage such as colour grading and more. The Canon Log workflows provide you with greater dynamic range, and more highlights and shadow retention. Canon Log 2 will provide you with the largest dynamic range and image detail of the sensor; while Canon Log 3 will provide an alternative with only a slightly reduced dynamic range of up to 14 stops.
Slow/Fast Motion Recording
Slow and Fast Motion Recording is made possible with the C70 Cinema Camera from Canon. You'll be able to slow down your video footage up to 120 fps when recording in 4K, and up to 180 fps when recording in 2K (crop) format.
Other Features Include:
- The use of LUT input, that's available for LCD Monitoring, or it can be applied direct to recordings. It's compatible with .CUBE LUT files.
- Autofocus Modes that include One-Shot AF, Continuous AF and AF-Boosted MF. All the modes take effect when the AF/MF switch of the EF lens is set on the AF setting.
- Built-in ND Filter - With the built-in filter, you can create different effects by darkening your image by up to 10 stops.
- Image Stabilization System is also supported, depending on the lens that's being used. Digital 5-Axis IS for non IS lenses; and when combining of both Optical IS and Digital IS, you'll achieve 5-Axis Image Stabilization, while IS performance all depends on the lens that's used.
