Packed into the R3 Mirrorless Camera is a newly developed back-illuminated Full Frame CMOS sensor with approximately 24.1 megapixels, combined with the power of the DIGIC X Imaging Processor to produce exceptional image quality and a new dimension of high-speed photography and filmmaking; AF/AE tracking with minimal image distortion when utilizing the electronic shutter.
In video mode the Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera's powerful DIGIC X Image Processor ensures that a wide range of high-end functions can be made possible such as 6K60p RAW 12-bit internal video.
A Dual Pixel CMOS AF Auto Focus II system, consists of an automatic selection (1053 available AF areas) and manual selection (1-point AF 4779 AF positions available) which can reliably track the eyes and heads of subjects at up to a full 30 fps. Additionally, the advanced auto focus system covers 100% of the sensor and 100% horizontal and 90% vertical in manual-select mode. Ultra-Groundbreaking Eye Control AF system which ideal for all sports, wildlife, and all adventurous photography.
24.1 Megapixel Full-Frame Stacked CMOS Sensor
The advanced Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera features a redesigned 24.1 Megapixel Back-Illuminated Full Frame CMOS sensor. This image sensor ensures superior image quality, raising the bar in high level stills and video recording ensuring great sharpness, clarity, tonal gradation and dynamic range.
DIGIC X Image Processor
The EOS R3 is equipped with Canon’s most advanced image processor, the DIGIC X. The powerful DIGIC X Image Processor ensures that a wide range of high-end functions can be made possible such as 6K60p RAW 12-bit internally recorded, DCI and UHD 4K 4:2:2 10-bit video at up to 120p, an ISO sensitivity of 100-102400 (in 1/3-stop or 1 stop increments) and it can be expanded to a low of 50 and a high of 204800 and still keep digital noise to a minimum; superior image quality with outstanding sharpness and clarity; blistering autofocusing speeds and more.
High-Speed Continuous Shooting @ 30fps
Go out and capture just about everything, whether it be fast moving motor vehicle racing or slower paced portraits, the Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera will perform exceptionally well. The camera allows a continuous shooting speed of up to 12 fps with mechanical shutter and up to 30 fps with silent electronic shutter, and at the same time still retaining sharpness and remarkable image quality.
Eye Control AF, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
Canon has incorporated its Dual Pixel CMOS AF II Technology with up to 4779 AF points and 100% sensor coverage into this sophisticated camera. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II adopts incredibly high-speed autofocus calculations to match its powerful high-speed shooting capability of up to 30fps. It also ensures an AF System that covers 100% horizontally and 100% vertically with Face and Eye- Tracking and Auto Selection modes.
With blistering autofocus speeds, and the Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera is also functional in light levels as low as -7.5EV.
The new Eye Control enables photographers to use their eyes to initiate where the focus point is, simply by looking through the electronic viewfinder. The camera then takes control, using subject tracking and detection to keep the sighted subject in sharp focus.
