The Canon EOS R8 II Mirrorless Camera features a 24.2MP sensor paired with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II and deep-learning subject detection, providing fast, intelligent recognition. This is all backed by 40fps continuous shooting, pre-continuous capture, and 1/16,000 second maximum shutter speed for when shooting fast-moving subjects in bright light.
Video capabilities of the Canon EOS R8 Mark II Mirrorless Camera feature 4K/60p oversampled from 6K for detailed footage with smoother rendering, and Full HD extends to 180p for slow motion. Canon Log 3 adds grading flexibility, with up to 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and XF-HEVC S and XF-AVC S formats for hybrid workflows.
The R 8 2 includes a newly developed 5-axis sensor-shift stabilisation system that works on the body itself rather than lenses with IS. Correction can reach up to 7.5 stops at the centre of the frame, and 7.0 at the edges.
Physical handling of the camera body has also been improved with a larger grip, making it easier to hold, even with a smaller body. For convenient tripod use, you will now find dedicated side access to the card slot as opposed to next to the battery.

Sensitivity can be expanded to ISO 50 to ISO 204,800.
Advanced In-Body Stabilisation
The R8 Two includes a newly developed 5-axis sensor-shift stabilisation system that works on the body itself rather than lenses with IS. IBIS is especially useful when slower shutter speeds are used, and it enables steadier handheld shooting, especially in low light conditions.
Correction can reach up to 7.5 stops at the centre of the frame, and 7.0 at the edges. Further, compatible lenses coordinate optical IS with IBIS for an enhanced effect.
Ultra-Fast Shooting
40fps continuous shooting, pre-continuous capture, and 1/16,000 second maximum shutter speed for when shooting fast-moving subjects in bright light.
Intelligent Autofocus
Intelligent autofocus includes Dual Pixel CMOS AF II and deep-learning subject detection that automatically tracks people, trains, dogs, cats, aircraft, birds, horses, cars and motorbikes.
Autofocus coverage covers virtually 100% of the frame in both vertical and horizontal orientations. In low-light conditions, focusing sensitivity goes as low as -7.5 EV.

The Canon EOS R8 Mark II Mirrorless Camera features built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 that can connect easily to a smartphone via Camera Connect for downloading content or accessing Canon's image.canon cloud service.
You will also find a USB-C port that can be used for direct computer connection, or it can be used for charging. There is also UVC/UAC support for video calls and livestreaming at up to 4K60p.
