With a 1:2 half-life-size maximum magnification and a minimum focusing distance of only 14cm. The minimum f1.8 aperture makes it possible to use the lens in a variety of lighting conditions.
One UD (ultra-low dispersion) element and one aspherical element control both chromatic and spherical aberrations for well-corrected imagery that is especially sharp and colour-accurate. The nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

With up to 5 stops of optical image stabilization, this lens minimizes the appearance of camera shake making it easier to use in a handheld position and in lower shutter speeds.
