3D 180° VR Capture

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens, combined with one of the above compatible camera bodies, you can create immersive 3D experiences. When captured imagery is viewed on a compatible head mount display, you can feel like you are part of the story that you create.
The lens features a beautifully engineered and optimised folded optical design, with separate left and right optical systems. This enables you to capture stereoscopic 3D imagery with a 180° field of view to a single full-frame image sensor.

VR with Ease

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens with a compatible camera body provides you with the ability to deliver a single file. This system allows you to create a convenient and powerful solution compared to traditional VR systems, capturing a 3D scene with two separate fisheye lenses. With this technology, your workflow is simplified by eliminating the need to sync and stitch multiple video files.

Stereoscopic 3D Imagery

The lenses on both sides are spaced about 6cm from each other, this spacing is similar to human vision. Providing a powerful experience where the viewer can feel as if they are in the scene.

Dual-Sychronised Electro-Magnetic Diaphragm

Both the left and right lens features their own optical system, along with separate but still coordinated aperture mechanisms. Together they seamlessly and simultaneously control the exposure of both lenses.

L-Series Lens Elements

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens is designed with 12 elements in 10 groups along with two ultra-low dispersion glass elements and prisms in both left and right lenses.

Subwavelength Structure Coating (SSC)

SWC technology is used to reduce the appearance of ghosting and reflections that might occur when shooting in more challenging lighting environments. This is to provide you with more versatility and a more uniform colour balance in the scene.

Manual Focusing

Coordinated manual focusing of both lenses allows you to focus each lens using the manual focus ring. Additionally, a left-right focus adjustment dial lets you refine the focus of the right lens separately from the left lens by using the included hexagon wrench.

Large Aperture

This lens offers a highly adaptable aperture range, allowing you to go from s bright f/2.8 aperture in low light conditions to a deep depth of field of f/16 for more control in brighter environments. A gelatin filter holder on the rear allows you to add optional gel filters.

Dust- and Water-Resistant Sealing with Fluorine Coating

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens features a highly durable mount design, made to L-series lens specifications. With this lens being water and dust-resistant, you can shoot with ease in almost any weather condition.
You will also find a fluorine coating on the front lens element to assist water, dust, oil and other surface residue from sticking to the elements.
