Construction

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z Lens features an internal focussing and zooming design that specifically benefits video applications where the lens is to be mounted to a gimbal.
Two floating focus Nano USM motors are employed to drive the Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus motors moving independently to produce fast, quiet and accurate autofocus performance benefitting both video and still applications.
Further, the lens construction suppresses focus breathing to maintain the integrity of the image as you move throughout the zoom range, with a manual, and lockable iris ring to ensure the integrity of the exposure as you shoot.

Optical Design

18 elements in 15 groups, these include two super ultralow dispersion elements, and another ultralow dispersion element minimizing chromatic aberrations. Also, three additional aspherical lenses ensure the highest edge-to-edge image quality.
The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z Lens features Air Sphere and Super Spectra Coatings to the front element of the lens to reduce ghosting and flare, while a fluorine coating makes cleaning easy.
