With the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P Advanced Tracking Combo, you will find the DJI Multifunctional Module 2 included, which expands tracking capabilities beyond humans and animals to selected objects. With the Multifunctional Module 2 included, with the OM 8P, you get stabilisation in your shots, subject tracking and flexible shooting positions. All this without the need for additional accessories.
This version of the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 P is ideal for adding more control for tracking moving subjects, products or scenes. By adding the module, you will also be able to add an adjustable fill light that is controlled directly from the 8 P.
Some added features to the OM 8P include a built-in tripod and extension rod for extended shooting positions without the need for additional accessories.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8P range features updates in terms of tracking, control and camera movement. As opposed to the restricted range of the pan rotation in previous models, the OM8P offers unlimited 360° pan rotation to allow for continuous horizontal motion during recording.
You are now also able to enable subject tracking within native and third-party apps with support for Apple DockKit to extend use beyond the DJI Mimo App.
On the body of the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P, you will find the Osmo FrameTap, which is a detachable remote that displays a mirrored live view as from the connected smartphone. This allows for framing, subject selection and tracking control without the need to be close to the OM 8 P handle. The remote attaches magnetically to the handle or can be used independently, maintaining a stable connection during operation.
ActiveTrack 8.0, which is only available within the DJI Mimo App, has also been updated to enable automatic subject tracking. Your expected battery life has also been extended to last for up to 10 hours on a single full charge.

Multifunctional Module 2
The DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2 is an add-on accessory for the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P. It is designed to expand tracking, lighting and other functions through USB-C connection. It attaches via the gimbal’s roll axis using a reversible mount and remains compatible with DJI OM magnetic clamps and mounting accessories.
The DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2 uses on-device processing to enable subject tracking by being less reliant on the connected smartphone. Tracking is supported for people, animals, vehicles and selected objects once defined.
When filming alone, the gesture control option is very useful as tracking can be started and stopped without touching the device.
A built-in fill light provides adjustable brightness and colour temperature for shooting in low-light conditions, while maintaining a compact form factor. The DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2 also supports phone charging when used with the appropriate cable, extending recording time during use.
Osmo FrameTap

Joystick Control
The joystick provides direct control over gimbal movement and zoom, along with adjustment of compatible accessories. Input remains continuous, allowing smooth directional changes during recording.
Magnetic Connection
The DJI Osmo FrameTap connects to the gimbal via magnetic connection. This remote can be used independently, or it can be mounted to the handle while maintaining a stable link during operation.
Apple DockKit
Subject tracking is possible in native and third-party apps via Apple DockKit. From the moment pairing is done via NFC tracking can begin without relying on the DJI Mimo App for compatibility over different recording workflows.
ActiveTrack 8.0
The DJI OM8P features an upgraded version of ActiveTrack 8.0 from that found in the predecessor. With this, the subject is always kept in frame during movement, which includes crowded or visually complex environments.
This advanced system adapts to changes in direction and obstructions for continuous tracking.
Extension Rod
Just below the gimbal, on the handle, you will find an integrated extension rod allowing for a wider shot, or lower angles without the need to reposition the operator.
Built-in Tripod
At the bottom of the handle, you will find a built-in tripod that opens wider than its predecessor for improved stability on flat surfaces.
Battery Operation
Your expected battery life has also been extended to last for up to 10 hours on a single full charge.
Phone Charging
When shooting over longer periods, the OM8P handle features a USB-C port for supplying power to the connected smartphone during operation.
Stabilisation System
Movement through pan, tilt and roll axes is stabilised via the three-axis stabilisation system. The motor performance is also upgraded to support stable footage when changing direction or filming at varying angles.
PTF / FPV / PF Mode
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8P features different shooting modes, which include PTF, where the camera follows pan and tilt movements while the roll remains stabilised. FPV mode allows all three axes to follow the movement of the gimbal, producing motion that reflects the operator’s handling of the device.
Then, in PF mode, you will find a steady horizon with only pan movement that is followed while tilt and roll remain stabilised.
SpinShot
SpinShot enables controlled rotation of the camera view through joystick input, allowing continuous rotational movement during recording.
360° Rotation
As opposed to the restricted range of the pan rotation in previous models, the OM8P offers unlimited 360° pan rotation to allow for continuous horizontal motion during recording.
Action Shot
To ensure your subject remains in the frame during rapid movements, Action Shot mode supports continuous tracking during rapid motion.
DynamicZoom
The DynamicZoom feature adds push and pull effects during recording, to provide you with different perspectives while recording and maintaining subject framing.
Widescreen Format
Recording in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio allows footage to be captured in a widescreen format without cropping during post-production.
Gesture Control
The DJI OM 8P feature the gesture control function that enables recording and tracking to be activated using predefined hand gestures.
Filters and LUTs
Both the built-in filters and LUT import support allow for real-time adjustment of colour and tone during recording.
One-Tap Editing
To assist in reducing manual post-editing time, One-Tap Editing is available within the DJI Mimo App that applies automated edits via predefined templates.
