Through theory classes, demonstrations, workshops, and structured practical projects students will explore the opportunities presented by working with different kinds of light sources and in different lighting environments. The course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the visual characteristics of light in a scene so that they can make infomed choices about the best lighting environment for their photographs. Classes cover the theory, technique and practice involved in photographing in various lighting environments while homework assignments give students an opportunity to put this knowledge into practice. As the course progresses the lighting environments we explore become more complex giving students the opportunity to expand their understanding of light alowing them to problem solve effectively in any lighting environment
