60MP BSI CMOS Sensor

The Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera features the same flagship 60MP full frame sensor as can be found in the Leica M11. Being a back-illuminated (BSI) design, this sensor features improved noise performance as well as faster readout speeds which benefits still and video applications.

Triple Resolution Technology

Another feature brought over from the Leica M11 is the ability to use Triple Resolution Technology, Allowing for the ability to choose from 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP output. Each of these presets makes use of the full sensor area and provides a rich 14-bit colour and a 14-stop dynamic range.

Maestro IV

The Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera introduces the new generation processing with the Maestro IV. This processor, along with 8GB of buffer memory, suits the more multimedia-intended use of the Q3-43 and enables speedy performance when shooting stills or recording video. With a wide sensitivity, an ISO of 50-100000 makes it possible to work in difficult lighting conditions.

43mm: A New Perspective

The 43 approximates the field of view of the human eye, creating a realistic distortion-free, and perspective compared to wider or longer lenses.
This lens is versatile enough to be ideal for everything from landscapes to street and even portraits, it also features a dedicated Macro position for close-up shooting down to 26cm away.

Apochromatic Optical Design

Leica did not only take this opportunity to design a new iteration of a camera, but they also took this opportunity to create a new lens, now fitted to the Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera. Featuring an apochromatically corrected design for notably good colour accuracy that is void of fringing or other colour aberrations.
The lens also features aspherical elements for creating notably sharp, low-pass, and high-contrast images. This is combined with a bight f/2 aperture to further assist in colour rendering and sharpness of the image.

Hybrid Autofocus and Subject Tracking

A hybrid AF system utilises phase detection along with contrast detection and depth from defocus AF for faster performance.
Along with phase detection, the Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera also features intelligent subject tracking to detect and track eyes, bodies, faces, and animals in the frame.

8K Video and ProRes Recording

The Leica Q3 Digital Camera received more attention to detail on its video capabilities to produce video capabilities that rival the outstanding still capabilities. These include DCI 8K recording is supported at up to 30p with 4:2:0 10-bit colour when recording internally or at 8-bit when recording externally via the micro-HDMI port. And 4K recording with 4:2:2 10-bit colour at up to 60p for recording internally. In full HD frame rates of up to 60p is possible.

Camera Design

Updated EVF and New Tilting LCD

The updated 5.76m-dot OLED EVF offers eye-level composing and features a 120fps refresh rate providing a more realistic rendering.
For the first time in the Leica Q lineup, you will find a tilting LCD screen for a clear view from high as well as low angles. The 3" 1.84m-dot LCD also features touch compatibility for more intuitive control.

Portable, Weather-Sealed Design

Designed for everyday use with a similar design as previous versions, but you will find some notable updates.
With your Leica Q3-43 you will find a larger capacity battery (Leica BP-SCL6) capable of up to 350 shots per charge, please note that the precious model battery is also compatible, with the BP-SCL4.
Also accepting one SD memory card, UHS-II protocol is also now accepted.

The magnesium alloy body is sealed to protect against dust and moisture (IP52-rated) for use in harsh environmental conditions. Further, the 43 features a unique grey leatherette on the body to create contrast with the black top and bottom plates

Expanded Connectivity and Wireless Charging Accessories

The Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera features improved wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi 2.4 and 5 GHz as well as Bluetooth 5.0. You will also find an updated version of the Leica FOTOS App that enables you to 10 x faster than in the past with up to 35MB/s.
Using the FOTOS App new Leica Looks can be transferred to your camera like: Contemporary, Classic, Blue, Selenium, Sepia, and more.
