Optical Performance

The Nikon Monarch M5 10x50 Binoculars feature a large x50mm objective lens diameter, allowing for ample light to enter the tubes. This leads to convenient use from dusk till dawn, or even in the dark, for the moon and stars. Then coupled with a strong magnification and a wide field-of-view while still lightweight and fairly compact.
You will find a roof prism light path that ensures the optical tubes remain thin for a compact form factor and ease operation of the M 5.
Extra-low dispersion glass elements with anti-reflection multi-coated optics. Furthermore, all optics feature highly reflective, dielectric-coated, phase-corrected roof prisms. These all work together to produce clear, high-contrast images with true-to-life colours and minimal colour fringing.

Use and Handling

A solid platform is created for the internal focusing mechanism by the employment of a closed-bridge configuration. On the bridge, you will find a large focus wheel for precise control, even when wearing gloves.
You will also find a right eye dioptric adjustment collar to help compensate for individual eye prescription. For comfortable use by a wide variety of individuals, you will find a 56-72mm interpupillary distance range. A long eye relief helps to reduce eye strain and improves viewing comfort. A comfortable exit pupil will cover pupils as they open in low light to keep the full scene in view.

Construction Details

The Nikon Monarch M5 10x50 Binoculars are constructed from environmentally friendly Eco-Glass that is made without lead or arsenic.
Both optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed in order to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperatures.
A textured protective rubber armouring assists in providing a slip-resistant grip, especially in colder and wetter environments.
