With the Rode NTG4 Shotgun Microphone, you are able to customise your tone and sound capture quality indoors as well as outdoors on any indie film, TV shoot, or documentary project. You will have access to specialised features such as low-noise circuitry, digitally switchable pad and frequency settings, and minimal handling noise reducing the need to repair and restore audio in post-production.
The Rode NTG4 features enhanced sensitivity allowing it to produce strong output levels without having to apply high gain levels at your preamp. Where additional clarity is needed a switchable boost is on hand.
Quality Sound Capture
The Rode NTG4 Shotgun Microphone with a long body and supercardioid peattern yields a focused front-facing sound pickup and enhanced attenuation of sound entering from the sides. Its low self-noise of 16 dBA and sensitive condenser element communicate detailed audio unburdened by the hiss that plagues many low-cost microphones. Plus, its balanced output allows longer cable runs than most camera-mount shotgun microphones.
Phantom Powered
Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output and compliance with 12, 24, or 48 VDC phantom power, the NTG4 is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders and cinema cameras.
Customisable Tone via Digital Switching
Using digital switching provides you with intuitive access to the microphone settings. Also, these settings are retained when the mic is switched off. To reduce the sound noise from common sources like traffic and air conditioners you can activate the 75 Hz low-cut filter. The -10dB can be switched on in cases where loud sounds threaten the quality to attenuate the input level.
Ideal for Boompole Mounting
The Rode NTG4 Shotgun Microphone is a lightweight, metal-bodied microphone and includes a mic clip for easy mounting on a mic stand or boompole.
Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise
In the box you will find a foam windscreen designed to reduce unwanted wind noise from entering the capsule, whether it is a light wind breeze, a fan, or an air conditioner.
