    Roland offers sound & video engineers a complete and portable HD studio in the Roland V-40HD Multi-Format Video Switcher with 25 setting configurations. The Multi-Format Video Switcher however doesn't require that any input sources have to be matched to the output resolution, and with every input that's incorporated in the Roland Multi-Format Video Switcher has its own broadcast quality scaler that can individually scale, crop and zoom, stretch each source as need for the desired resolution.

    Th Roland V-40HD is a powerful video switcher that allows you to input background music, narration, or other analog sound sources, mix and sync the video and audio and then output the result via HDMI signal.

    Inputs and Outputs

    The advanced Roland V-40HD video switcher is a four-channel switcher that consists of three types of Input connectors – 4 x HDMI, 4 x RGB/Component and 4x Composite, that allows you to connect a tally of 12 video devices. Output provides 3 systems that consists of 6 connectors out for HDMI, RGB/Component on HD DB-15, Composite on BNC and preview on HDMI.

    Resolution up to 1080/60p

     The inputs and outputs that the Roland V-40HD are equipped with, supports resolutions up to 1080/60p and 1080/50p for PAL, or 1920 x 1200 for computer resolution.

    4:4:4 / 10-Bit Processing

    The video switcher makes use of the 4:4:4 / 10-bit internal signal processing as well as the 4:2:2 / 8-bit output-signal processing.

    HDCP Compliant

    With the video switcher being HDCP compliant, you can now mix copy-protected game and Blu-ray content with other camera and computer sources without any hassle, however you’ll need permission from the holder if any commercial content is being used. In HDCP, it only allows HDMI or DVI-D via a converter output can be used. It isn’t possible when using the Component and Composite outputs. When any source of display or projector is connected to the HDMI or DVI-D output then it has to support HDCP.

    Preview

    The video switcher is fully advanced as it allows you to choose the view on a preview monitor and you can choose from a four-way-split screen, PST, PGM or DSK to display. The resolution and refresh rate of the monitor is fixed at 1080 at 60 fps, so an HDMI monitor that supports HDCP and 60p signals is required and on the four-way-split-screen you’ll have a much lower frame rate.

    Memory

    The Roland V-40HD allows you to save the switchers configured settings in internal memory, and with each of the five memory banks, can hold five sets of settings which tallies up to a total of 25 configurations.
