The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens is designed to be used with the Leica L-Mount Full Frame mount. This Sigma 28-45 is the world's first full-frame zoom lens featuring f/1.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range.
The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens features prime-like optical performance and video-friendly design and functionality. The wide-to-normal focal range offers you a more lightweight and compact lens without surrendering image quality.
Design and Performance
The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens is designed to be used with the Leica L-Mount Full Frame mount. Featuring a total of 18 elements in 15 groups, including three aspherical and five Special Low Dispersion elements designed to minimize lens flares and ghosting and suppress various aberrations. The 11-blade iris with a rounded diaphragm, this design promotes sharpness and a large, smooth bokeh when used wide open.
Further the f/1.8 maximum aperture, a minimum focus distance of 30.2cm is also maintained across the entire zoom range. It achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 at its longest focal length, increasing depth of field and versatility in tight spaces.
Video Production
The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens (Leica L) is ideal and designed with video creation in mind, the bright f/1.8 aperture and wide-to-normal range make it ideal for a single run-and-gun shooter. Ideal for gimbal mounting, the lens maintains its overall length throughout to entire zoom range by using an internal zoom design. The design also suppresses focus breathing for smooth movement across the focal range.
Featuring Sigma's high-speed, high-response linear actuator autofocus. This provides quick, quiet and accurate autofocus performance making it ideal for both video and still applications. While manual focusing is improved with click and lock mechanisms.
The L-Mount iteration of the Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens also supports switching between linear and non-linear focus ring settings. With a rotation angle of 90 to 720° and a constant minimum focusing distance, operators will benefit from intuitive manual focusing at any focal length.
