High-Resolution 61MP Full-Frame Exmor R CMOS Image Senor

Built-in to the Sony A7R V Camera is a high-resolution 61MP Full-Frame Exmor R CMOS Image Senor, a sensor that's packed with Sony's Image Sensor technologies, with effective noise reduction realised by its back-illuminated structure, including gapless on-chip lenses, AR coating (Anti-Reflection Seal Glass), and the elimination of an optical low pass filter.

BIONZ XR Image Processing Engine

With the powerful BIONZ XR Image Processing Engine incorporated which is up to eight times the processing power of its predecessor, the new BIONZ XR processes huge volumes of image data while minimizing latency and a markedly boosting the camera's video and still-image processing power.

Advanced 5-Axis In-Body Optical Stabilization

Creating in focus and sharp images couldn't be any easier when using the brand new A7R V Camera from Sony. The new stabilization algorithm provides precise detection and control right down to the single-pixel level, taking full control of the 61MP sensor resolution to bring out the finest detail of your subject.

High Quality 8K Video Recording

Not only is this compact Sony A7R V Camera a high-resolution stills camera, but it's also designed to produce beautiful 8K movies. With the XAVC HS format, it enables in-camera recording of high-resolution, high-quality 8K (7680 x 4320) 24p (25p) movies with efficient HEVC/H.265 compression, delivering the best out of Sony's lenses and taking full advantage of the resolution provided by it's powerful sensor and full-pixel readout to ensure that the finest subject detail is captured.

Outstanding 4K Video Recording up to 60p

Record the finest details when shooting in 4K. The full-frame and Super 35mm formats can be selected for 4K movie recording, and Full pixel readout in the Super 35mm mode without the need for pixel binning makes 2.6x oversampling possible for 4K movies. The XAVC S-I (All-Intra) or the XAVC HS format is supported, with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour sampling.

Accurate AF in Low EV -4.0 Light

With advanced AF algorithms, it enables high AF precision down to light levels as low as EV 4.0 in AF-S mode. The Sony A7R V Mirrorless Camera includes a Focus Priority mode that provides more reliable AF in low light or when using smaller apertures.

AI-Driven Performance

The Sony A7R V Mirrorless Camera features a powerful built-in AI Processing unit specifically dedicated to processing significant amounts of data to enable more accurate recognition of subjects of a wider range of subject types.

Human Pose Estimation

Sony's A7R 5th Generation camera uses subject form data to recognise movement, providing a roughly 60% improvement in human eye recognition. The technology uses learned human forms and postures to precisely recognise not just the eyes, but body and head position, making it extremely intelligent enough to lock onto and track subject facing away from the camera or even wearing a mask.

Real-time Recognition

The A7R V camera is designed to deliver dramtically enhanced oevrall performance, drawing on major improvements in subject recognition performance. Deep learning technology supports powerful real-time recognition AF as well as more reliable Real-Time Tracking, which is supported by higher Fast Hybrid AF performance over a wider area.

Recognise a Wider Range of Subjects

Not only does the A7R V from Sony recognise humans, animals and birds. It's now capable of recognising insects, cars, trains and airplanes, providing even greater flexibility and reliability when shooting both stills and video. Heads and bodies are now recognised in addition to eyes (Realtime Eye AF) for the human, bird and animal settings.

New 4-Axis Multi-Angle 3.2" High-Detail LCD Monitor

The Sony A7R V camera features a newly developed 4-axis multi-angle monitor that combines the utility of a conventional tilting monitor with side-opening vari-angle flexibility. The screen allows greater shooting freedom by providing users with unrestricted angle adjustment in both horizontal and vertical orientations.
The screen has a 3.2 aspect ration, with 2.1 million dots, touch operation and a wide colour gamut (DCI-P3 equivalent). An outdoor mode is provided for a clear visibility in bright environments.

QXGA 9.44 Million-dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder

The QXGA 9.44 Million-dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder is certainly on another level as it offers a 1.6x improvements in resolution compared to its predecessor, world record 0.90x viewfinder magnification, a 41° diagonal FOV, and a selectable 120 fps setting for minimal motion blur.
