Advanced Controls and Ergonomics
To allow for a speedier AF performance, you can use the focus range limiter switch to constrain your focus range. With printed and magnification scales, the manual focus ring can be slid back and forth, allowing for switching between manual and autofocus settings. Aperture can be adjusted using the physical aperture ring, this can be clicked or declicked for smooth adjustments when shooting video.
The Iris lock switch prevents the lens from being accidentally shifted from A and manual aperture settings. The Full-Time DMF switch turns Direct Manual Focus on/off. The SteadyShot switch turns optical image stabilisation on or off. There is also a focus mode switch for setting manual or autofocus from the lens.

Teleconverter Compatibility
The Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 Macro GM Lens is compatible with both the 1.4x and 2x Teleconverters from Sony. When using the 1.4x converter, you will achieve a 2x maximum magnification with an effective focal length of 140mm f/4, and 2.8x magnification at 200mm f/5.6 using the 2x converter.
