The Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Lens offers you a bright, wide maximum aperture that is ideal for everyday use in a form factor that is easy to carry with exceptional image quality benefiting both still and video applications producing high resolution and smooth beautiful bokeh with its 11 blade circular aperture.
The bright constant f/2.8 aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and shallow depth of fields. The Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Lens features 16 lens elements in 13 groups with 4 aspherical elements assisting in reducing spherical aberrations and distortion. While two extra-low dispersion elements effectively suppress chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for greater clarity and colour fidelity.
The linear autofocus motors work together for a fast, quick, and more precise AF which benefits both video and still applications. When working with faster-moving subjects support is available for shooting up to 120 fps with the Sony a9 III. Even when shooting stopped down, full AF is maintained, and focus tracking is also possible when shooting slow motion 4K 1220p and Full HG 240p.

For when mounted to a compatible camera, the Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Lens supports Dynamic/Active mode. Also in in select cine-line and Alpha cameras, the Breathing Compensation function is supported.
Compact, Lightweight, and Robust Design
The Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Lens provides you with a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture in a compact and lightweight form factor, primed for a wide spectrum of applications. This is all in a weather-sealed construction for working in inclement weather conditions. Tactile exposure is possible with the manual aperture ring, the ring can also be de-clicked for smooth and silent iris pulls, or locked in "A" position for camera-based aperture switching.
For intuitive focus control, you will find one focus hold button and a focus mode switch. The front lens element has a fluorine coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants and makes the lens easier to clean.
The included lens hood has been redesigned to complement the lens's sleek design by reducing both its diameter and length.
