The Sony XLR-H2 XLR Handle Unit allows for improved audio recording quality by adding two additional XLR inputs. It supports recording at a 96 kHz sampling rate along with 32-bit float. This handle can also generate separate WAV files that are saved in-camera to expedite editing.

The Sony XLR-H2 XLR Handle Unit connects to the FX5 camera body via the Multi-Interface Shoe, allowing a cable-free digital audio interface. It also has dual ADCs and four-channel input.

This handle has two combo XLR-1/4" inputs along with a 3/5mm mic input. For easy operation, it includes physical controls and dials on each side that are also covered to prevent accidental changes to settings during operation. The Sony XLR-H2 XLR Handle Unit makes it easier to operate the camera and has four 1/4"-20 accessory threads for attaching other items. Additionally, there is also an integrated microphone holder.
