Optical Performance

The Swarovski STS-80 HD 80mm Spotting Scope (body only) does need an eyepiece for proper use, either the Swarovski 20-60x Zoom Spotting Scope Eyepiece or the Swarovski 25-50x W Wide-Angle Zoom Eyepiece (not included).
Featuring extra-low dispersion (ED) fluorine HD glass specifically designed to produce bright, clear views with accurate colour reproduction. To further improve colour, clarity, resolution and contrast, the front glass elements feature SWARODUR and SWAROCLEAN optical coatings that maximise light transmission while making them scratch resistant and easy to clean.

Use and Handling

The eyepiece holder on the Swarovski STS-80 HD 80mm Spotting Scope sits in line with the optical tube for faster and easier target acquisition and tracking. On the scope, you will also find a large slip-resistant focusing collar that is easy to use, even while wearing gloves.
On the front, you will find an extendable sunshade to prevent glaring, to preserve image brightness and contrast, eliminating lens flare to spook game. The front of the scope features threads accepting filters to enhance your view, such as ND and CPL filters.

Construction Details

The Swarovski STS-80 HD 80mm Spotting Scope features a lightweight, durable aluminium chassis and is nitrogen-filled along with O-Ring sealed to make it dustproof, waterproof and resistant to internal fogging for when moving through extreme temperature and environmental conditions.
