Sony has officially revealed the new Sony A7R VI, a next-generation full-frame camera built for creators who seek exceptional detail, advanced dynamic range and professional-level hybrid performance.

The main feature of the A7R VI is the brand new 66.8MP sensor, capable of producing incredibly detailed files while still delivering speed and performance. Combined with 16-stop dynamic range, the camera is developed to capture extraordinary tonal detail in both highlights and shadow which is ideal for landscapes, wildlife and portraiture.
One of the first things that stand out when shooting with the camera is how much detail the new 66.8MP sensor is capable of resolving. The new battery system also sees a significant update, while physically similar in size, the upgraded battery is not backwards compatible with previous generations and can charge up to 80% in just 55 minutes.

Sony continues to improve the user-experience with a high resolution 9.44 million dot electronic viewfinder, designed for precise framing and clarity in bright outdoor conditions. The addition of an illumination button improves usability by providing backlight to control buttons which is favourable when shooting in low-light environments.

Alongside the launch of the A7R VI, Sony have also announced a completely new 100-400 lens F4.5 GM OSS Lens which is their first major rework of this focal range in over 10 years.
The new lens offers a new redesigned optical technology featuring ED XA elements for improved sharpness and image rendering throughout the zoom range.
The lens features fixed F4.5 aperture, internal zoom design, a new button-equipped lens hood, improved optical construction and close focusing capabilities down to 4 meters.
